Let me get this straight. Your contractor added a design element in tile without consulting with you? No offense, but that is just not acceptable. I feel for your floor woes, but the diagonal tile is what would make me hopping mad. Can't he just pop out those tiles and add the plain? A PIA for him, but not your fault and you shouldn't be designing the rest of your bathroom around his "helpful" mistake.

Oops, forgot to answer your question. I can see a plain rectangular mirror, maybe with a bevel, but I don't think you'd want a frame.

What about this one? It has the brushed nickel finish of the wall mount of the sconce, pulls out at the corners to hint at the diagonal trim in the shower, and is simple enough not to fight with the sconces. Kind of has a free-flying feeling as the sconces do as well.

The only thing that I would think about was trying to paint the corner balls in a gold finish to echo the round gold things on the wings, but then in the silver they echo the antennae feeling on the sconces.

I wouldn't worry all that much about the diagonal accent tile in the shower. No one will notice, since they are all the same color. Once you get everything in place in the bath, the shower walls become background, especially when they are plain white tile.

That said, I think I would insist that the contractor change those, if it really bothers you. If he did that without your okay, it is simply not your problem nor your cost if you insist they be done as in the plan.

Very interesting mirror! thanks. I think in time I'll be fine with the diamonds, just not the floor, and some day will possibly re-do, but I would prefer to do it myself. Right now, it may sound weird, but I just want to keep moving forward. The contractor is packed up and gone, and everything else he did was well done, so I'm trying to focus on the things to come.
