Decorating Color Consultation
Comments (18)Never done it. I love bold colors. I still have off white in my three bedrooms, because they aren't ready to paint just yet! LOL I am having a devil of a time picking paint for our exterior rental house right now!! I need to get it by Saturday too. Everyone has the same color, tan. Tan. Tan. Tan. With green trim, or brown trim or whatever. I want something different. Neighbors across the yard painted the most beautiful shade of a dark/gray green! I love it. But can't do that or rather won't now! LOL I love the terra cotta or clay colors. I debated doing that with white trim. But just am not sure I am brave enough! Plus you have to have the exact dark shade or it will end up looking pink. There are dark brown shingles on the house so almost gotta stay in the browns, tans, yellowish browns So I gave up and had them mix a sample pint, taupe 6, the darkest shade of taupe on the card. Painted a few strips on back side of the house. DS then tells his Dad don't let her paint the same color as the neighbor across the street! Grrrrrrrr NOBODY had an opinion when I asked before getting the sample! LOL...See MoreExterior paint-not sure I agree w/House Color Consultant?
Comments (16)I have paid lots of money over the years for professional advise ... sometimes I take and sometimes I don't. There isn't just one perfect color for your house/trim/door. If you hire 5 more color consultants I will bet that they all come up with different suggestions and I bet none will say that your house looks fine just as it is ... after all you paid them to come out and make suggestions! You seem to be stuck on what was said by the consultant, but obviously you didn't agree with her or you wouldn't be posting here! It really is ok if you do your own thing, really! Here is a free consultation! If I bought your house today, this is what I would do: - paint house body BM Nantucket Grey - paint house trim a non-stark white color - ditch the shutters (I call them wasp condos) and beef up the trim around the windows - paint the front door a nice glossy deep red from Fine Paints of Europe - solid granite latern posts, for birdhouse too - since I hate having to paint them - paint fence same white color as trim - get rid of asphalt and replace with pavers That's what I would do. What do you (not some sonsultant) want for YOUR house?...See MoreAre there any Pro Color Consultants out there?
Comments (55)I looked on Cambria website for Hermitage and I think it is quite busy pattern. I would see in person a whole slab to assess this pattern. I always stress people see full slabs in person. Then make other selections. I also like a more blue gray with your tile and future wood flooring. Champagne pulls would be very pretty with that combo. Once those decisions are made, then select wall color. Take a look at BM Pale Oak and SW Panda White....See MoreOnline color consultant for old house
Comments (13)Really on line color consult how ridiculous . A space drives color choices everything in the space has an effect on color . Why white at all? If just because it seems to be "in" does not make it righ everywhere. As for the website of Kylie M of course her blog says good things. IMO stick with a paint brand you know and choose 3 whites if you must go white. Get some large poster boards aint each one 2 coats of the white move it all around in your spaces .BTW I like all LED 4000K lighting but no matter what make sure all the lighting in every space is the same. This is my fave for a beautiful neutral and not white I often cut it 25% for just a hint of color BM color I think neutral is nature where every color works not much in the way of white for background there ....See MoreBluebell66
