I think I'd put it on the front. Most people pay more attention to the front than the back.

It depends on his build. If he's a portly guy I would put it on the back with the little logo on the front like they suggested. If he's still fit then I would put it on the front.

He is not heavy, probably 5'10 or 11". Wears size large T shirt.

Since it is only two words, I wondered if it would be noticeable in the front.

I'd put it on the front just over where the pocket would be. I My DH wouldn't wear it if it was on the back in.

You could also get a denim shirt and have the name embroidered over the pocket, or the T-shirt place could silk screen it on as well.

Well, without knowing your DS or the exact name, and seeing the shirt, it's hard to tell if he'd wear a shirt with a nick name on it -front or back. If you're pretty sure he would, I'd put it on front.

Otherwise, I'd probably just put it smaller (still on front)where the pocket would be like msmarion suggested. He may be more likely to wear it more often. Where would you like the name to be if you were given a shirt with your nick name on it?

Well, I guess I'm the only one here that owns a motorcycle. My husband and I take care of product sales for our American Legion Riders group and the guys all want the backs of their shirts printed. When you're on a motorcycle, people always see the back of your shirts. But, even without a motorcycle, I think I prefer shirts with print on the back. There are always people walking behind you to see.

Yeah, I'm going to have to backtrack and agree with ann... If you want the name to be really seen, the back is the probably the best. But, I guess it goes back to not knowing him and the nickname... If he's a conservative office worker who likes golfing, then I'd still vote for the pocket thingy... but if he's, for example, going to wear it riding a motorcycle, then I'd get it really big and on the back... just all depends on his style and the name. I just personally wouldn't want to wear my nick name on a shirt really big front or back.

Well first of all make sure that you spell the word 'Granpa' correctly - if it's the traditional spelling then it would be Grandpa, I believe.
What if you put it on the front in the large letters and on the back put it backwards so it looks like a mirror image of the same words?

I'd use the Granpa and not Grandpa. That's how it's said around here. Like I'm Gramma Honey.

I like the back design for men. With the little one on the pocket.

I scanned this picture of my DS wearing a T shirt. Now I see what is lacking. A design, not just the letters.

This is where the nick name comes from:

When DS's son was born his other GM and I both, not knowing the other had, the same thought. He was short and plump, and we each said he was built like a jeep. (Now he is tall and thin. Go figure.)

From that day on he has been called Jeep. So after a while My DS became known as PAPA JEEP.

So I want to get him a shirt with that on it, with a design, and it would be on the front.

I don't want a Jeep on it, but something similar to the shirt in the pic.

I am not at all artistic. Any of you artistically talented peeps want to come up with a design?

When you're on a motorcycle, people always see the back of your shirts.

Don't your riders wear patched vests? How would the back of their shirt be showing on rides?

Don't want to get in a big debate but real riders wear skins to protect their own skin. I see a rider in a tee shirt and my first thought is RUB if he's on a Harley and Squid if he's on a sport bike.
