Much better day today

After a horrible day at work yesterday, I came home (an hour late), got a good night's sleep and started over on the quilt. Finished my frog stitch, adjusted my tension, cleaned the bobbin case, and now she sews nicely. Except for the oil that dripped from the head onto the quilt. Don't know where that came from, and the needle down seems to have problems after the machine runs a while. I have one more quilt I would like to finish, then think I will return it to get the crack in the finish fixed and find out where the oil came from. They will pay for shipping for a year from date of delivery, so I will take advantage of it.

Glad to hear things are better!

Certainly take advantage of their shipping deal....It'd probably cost a pretty penny if you have to pay for it. Don't forget to mention the needle down issue and see if they'll look at that too.

You are right about the shipping! a 70+ pound machine isn't cheap to ship, and there are no dealers anywhere near me.

I have sent e-mails with pictures about each problem and will include those and the responses when I ship. I like to cover bases.

You don't have any idea where the oil came from do you? It may just be a new machine thing, but I would like to know for sure.

Woo Hoo! I know just how you feel - My Valentine's Day present was tile in my upstairs bathroom! Much better than any chocolate. Wow, I can imagine how fearful you were to go under general anesthesia, especially with hemorrhaging and dropping blood pressure! But thankfully you were at the hospital and in good hands. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, which may have been a fetus medically, but was of course, a potential child, to you and your husband. The fact that you did get pregnant naturally, is a good sign. It means that you are not infertile, so I'd think your chances of a successful pregnancy, whether natural or through IVF, will be great, since you have proof that you were able to conceive. Take the time you need to recover physically and emotionally, then look forward to planning your 'rainbow baby,' with all our best wishes!

Is grout really "so much better" (resistant to mold) these days?

I have epoxy white grout in my shower and I wipe the walls down after each days worth of showers. Usually just me though. I have not had to "clean" my shower, (except the shower pan, which is cast iron) in a year. I have "cleaned" my shower probably 3 times in 5 years (except of course for the floor, which I don't wipe down after showers). I use a large auto detailing microfiber towel, one layer thick. It dries with in 12 hours. I always use a vent fan. I have enough space under my room door to account for makeup air so the vent can work. Drying all the walls and caulking has worked for years for me. In my 3x5' shower with glass doors, it takes 70 seconds to wipe it all down along with the fixtures.

Sorry you had a bad time at work and to top it off your machine is not helping matters. You have covered all the details and that will help the repair dept get the machine in tiptop shape!

This weather is so miserable, even in the south, that its bearing down on us all!
