It had to happen

Loved last night for the most part. Reminded me of all my Neil Diamond favorites.

Loved his performance tonight, too. Made me realize I have missed him.

Guess I should turn the radio on sometimes, huh? :)

How 'bout that sneak peek of "So You Think You Can Dance?"

Looking forward to it.

I was surprise and yet I wasn't. I thought this person would have been there one more week but not longer than that.

The very first person to audition had such a nice voice, but he'll never hold up against the competition. He's the one with the high toned voice. He'd be a great crooner like the old time balladiers but not quite for today's pop culture. I really hate the audition weirdos and really wish they'd show us more of the real wannabees who at least have decent voices. Teresa, I try to predict, too. At least that part is fun LOL. Most often I can tell by the sound of their speaking voice and the resonance, like you. One sure fire way to tell is if they have a hoarse voice. You know that's a singer - an untrained one but a singer nonetheless. But then, lots of famous singers are also hoarse and they've had training, like Whitney Houston. I'm surprised she can talk or sing at all.

I liked Amanda, but I knew it would be this week or next as she doesn't fit the mold for Idol, nor did she really try. I also don't think she had any intention of winning this thing, it was exposure she was after and she got it. The reason she rarely smiled was because it didn't fit her image. Did you see her when she finally did, egged on by Simon? She looked like the girl next door! Put her in scrubs, with her hair pulled back, add the smile (she was TRYING not to on Idol), she's probably a great nurse. Wonder if she dyed her hair just for Idol? Hmmmm. I think she took this opportunity for everything it was worth and on her terms... well played IMHO. Somebody was definitely waiting in the wings to sign her up and she's probably glad she's no longer married to Idol. IMHO, Kristy's next. Then Carly. bestlawn took the words out of my head..."She's a great technician with no appeal." Spot on!

Thanks so much for the click and drag, bestlawn. I am always missing the elimination show, and I hate to wait like a day and a half to be able to see on the A.I. website who was voted off. Did y'all notice on the previous show this week, David Hernandez kept talking about his place of work being a pizzaria or something like that, in his interview? Maybe he worked there part time or off and on, briefly at the last or something. But I think he was trying to distance himself from his real place of employment - the gay strip club - since that had been found out and talked about all over the internet. As busy as they are with the grueling practice and rehearsals, they must have some kind of feedback available as to what is going on with the nation-wide audience. I thought David Cook would win AI when I saw his auditions in Hollywood. He was a bit creepy looking with his odd haircut but the AI stylists have done a good job cleaning him up and still leaving him with his "look". My DH doesn't like Cook because he reminds him of one of my not so popular brothers and I have to agree, he does look like him. I cannot get used to David A's breathing while he sings. Obviously I know it is necessary :-) but it is so loud that it distracts me. He's had vocal cord paralysis in the past and I worry that it may be a liability to him later on. Not sure if a producer wants to pour big bucks into a voice that has a history of medical problems. Jodi-

I think the right choice was made. I would have had also have picked the first person called onto the floor tonight as the bottom 2.

I just love Neil Diamond. He was so uncool when I was younger so of course I never admited my love for him, haha. Bummed about tonights vote off, but I agree Linda.

Those darn teenie boppers.....voting because they're in love...Maybe he thinks he can just ride to the top on popular votes...so he doesn't have to try so hard.

No comment about who was voted off. I guess it did have to happen sometime but I did like this person and feel this person will still have a career in singing. But I have another question regarding the first person being seated in the safe zone - did this person get the top votes and so went to the couch first or did they just do this to mess with me? I can't imagine that this person will be in the finals - that would be wrong, in my opinion.

Scissors, they don't tell us that. Ryan makes it seem like he calls names randomly. Last night was an exception, being that he made it obvious the two girls received the least number of votes. It didn't mean the guys were called in order of votes though. I'm not even sure they post the voting results on the website, but they just might. To me, it would be awfully unfair to the other contestants, especially David Cook, if Jason gets the most votes. Really, I wouldn't be surprised if David Archuleta gets the most votes. David C. gets my vote of confidence because he's the best singer, but the teens and pre-teens wouldn't necessarily consider him a cutie pie like Jason and David A.

Isn't it funny how we all have such different opinions about the contestants? I think Syesha has a beautiful voice. Think that Simon (and probably the others) thinking that she has more of a Broadway type voice has hurt her in the competition.

I liked Brooke but really didn't think that she was Idol material. Too amateurish (is that a word?). Jason needs to go HOME! He has beautiful eyes and that's about it. Saw one post on an American Idol web site and all it said was, "Jason must be as dumb as a brick!" LOL It struck me as funny. (Mean, I know.) He may be the most intelligent soul in the world, but he sure comes across as DUH! lol

Hope David Cook wins. David Archuleta probably has a better voice but David C. is a whole lot more versatile entertainer. An "entertainer" is what they're looking for, I think.

I was so looking forward to Jason going home. I knew Brooke had to go eventually, but wanted him to be first. I'm still rooting for David Cook to win. Hope Jason leaves next week. He doesn't seem to care one way or the other IMHO.
