Changed granite to quartzite at the last minute

Well,

I hope we did not mess up. We originally picked a granite called Saturina because we loved the mica in it but after 6 weeks of deliberation changed our minds due to the possible fabrication problems and the fact it is actually Asterix and not a true granite.

So we went back and changed the order to a granite called Elegant Brown, and I asked, is this a GRANITE? Yes.

Is it scratch resistant? Yes.

Is it stain resistant when sealed? Yes.

So we smugly picked out and ordered the slab and went home.

Upon some internet research I find this is NOT a granite, but quartzite, I thought oh well no big deal.

BUT, they gave me a manufactured 2 X 6 sample to take with me, and to make a long story short, it stains and scratches!

So my question is, is it possible this sample is simply not sealed?

This stone is from the Antolini Signature collection and is quite expensive and they classify it as a granite.

Now I am very confused and wondered if anyone has anything like this, or knows anything about quartzite.

Thanks for all your help!
