Ok, these are pretty bad. But G4 is the worst for me because I just couldn't imagine ANYPLACE I could ever use it. A4 was really ugly, too, but it would probably work in a scrap quilt if it was used with lots of other fabric around it, but there is no hiding the ugliness of G4. And H2 is a close 3rd. Some of these aren't too bad, I like B1. And the E2 is just weird and creepy. Looks like an alien sun that is getting ready to turn into a black hole or something.

Um, yep, some of those are truly awful, LOL. G4 is the worst, though.

I would use G4 in a "John Deere" quilt. I think A4 is the ugliest with A3 coming in 2nd.

I vote for G1 but C1 comes in a close second. But, I like A1 and B3 in case you do a least ugly prize. It will be quite a challenge to make something from this pile. Maybe it's crumb quilt time.

It is a difficult choice but G4 gets my vote. Even thought pink isn't my color I could find a home for B3 and C2. Have fun trying to put those together. I don't believe I could. Jayne

Hmmm, not sure what this says about me, but as I scrolled down through the pics, I would not call many of these ugly - a challenge maybe! Actually, there were some I'd volunteer to take! All that said, I guess C3 is the one I'd least like to work with.

G3 is just awful. Then I scrolled to the H block. Man what a bunch of DOGS. I should go rinse my eyes.

I do have to admire the sheer yuchiness of all the entries.

LOL! Go rinse your eyes--that's a good one. G4 is ugly, but somehow it is what it is, a novelty print, and at least it's kinda dim. I would go with C3 being the ugliest. It makes no sense what so ever, and it's bright and ugly.

For me it was a toss up between C3 and the "beater" on brown fabric. But even though the colors in C3 aren't necessarily bad, the pattern is just creepy.

C3 gets my vote.

It is Fairy Frost, but not one of their best ones. Some are just down right creepy, aren't they.

Wow.... some of them aren't bad at all and others of them are pretty awful. I can't believe they even made a fabric with mixer beaters on it!

My least faves are A4, B3, C3, though E2 and 4 are pretty bad too.

but the final vote goes to H1... man that's ugly! Reminds me of the morning after a night of partying hard back in my youth.

What a tough thread to follow... I had to keep scrolling up and down to see what everyone was referencing to!

D1 gets my vote....ewww...it's like a dozen ugly fabrics all rolled into one.

Im not voting,but I LOVE F1,that paisley is PRETTY!!! Poor thing,calling it ugly!!! LOL! I like it!I'm a paisley freak!

Here's a vote for F3. It looks like it can't decide what it wants to be.

Oh my goodness. Some of these are really ugly. In other words I would be hard pressed to use them for anything.

My favorite "ugly" is: G4 with A4 being a close second.

I can't decide....in fact, I like most of them. It isn't that the fabric is ugly, I just wouldn't know what to do with it. Toss up between A4 and C3.....I'm thinking A4 could be cut WOF, off set the squares and put together like a checkerboard. OK, it's C3. There sure is a mish-mash of fabric there. Have fun, Beverly!

C3 and E2 I wouldn't rip up to braid into rug coils. OMGosh, hideous. G2 and H3 are a close second.

The beaters bring back memories of kitchen prints of the sixties. I have seen tablecloths and tea towels with similar prints. Some of the samples I think are actually attractive. I like and would buy any of the B blocks.

G4 and H4 are the ugliest to me. I actually like some of the others, myself. Guess my taste needs a little work-lol.

E2 is creepy.....I'd have to cut it up into teeny pieces. I think I own A1 -so I quess I better not use it for Lotto Blocks since it is an "UGLY".
I love fabric....so it is hard for me to pick a truly Ugly fabric, because, each of these would not be bad made into the right thing. I really dislike some of the colors, but that is not a real basis to call it ugly.

I think it has been fun to see the fabrics, and read the "ugly" voting / responses.

I'm a little disappointed :) I expected really, really UGLY fabrics! I guess that means we have some degree of taste, even when we acquire these "what was I thinking prints".

This was a fun break in a hard day.

There are some bad, bad fabrics here and several I would have trouble using, even in a scrappy quilt. The one I think I would have the most trouble with is G3, followed closely by F3. I've seen E2 and the faces in the suns(?) are truly creepy.

I'm a little worried about myself now because I kind of like C3.

My votes goes to... G3!

Okay, I kinda like B3, H1 & G1. No earthly idea HOW I'd use them (if ever!), but I don 't think they're all that bad.

But H2, H3, H4 & G3....Eeeek. Those are...um....*interesting*....

Of all the fabrics, I think that is the one I would have the most difficulty trying to find ANY use for :)

I'm not finding these all that offensive, with the right accompanying fabrics they wouldn't be THAT bad. But I have to say F3 really freaks me out... and E2 with the blue suns... yikes. My vote is F3.

There are some fabrics here that are disturbingly similar in color. I want to see a quilt made with just these:
b3, c2, c3, c4, d1, e2, e4, f3, h3.

Eeeeuuuuwwww! Makes me shudder just to think about it!

DD showed me a pattern that will look great with some of these. I may have to make 2 wall hangings!

When I was a kid, I remember hearing the horrible word "Puce" describing a color. Not knowing what that color looked like, I decided that I probably wouldn't like it much. I just remembered it when I read that last post by Kate. I decided to Google "puce" and guess what??? The color matches the name and it is very similar to all those colors that she listed. The definition is "a reddish (pinkish) or purplish brown" and in French meaning literally "color of a flea". So I just can't wait to see the puce concoction you manage to create although I don't know how you would be able to stomach that! LOL!

D-3 gets my vote and I confess I bought G-4 several years ago for in a wall hanging for my former Alaskan Hiking partner. It was perfect for the theme.
I'm pretty wierd but there are several of these that I like.Oh well. My grandma said "there's no accounting for tastes"

Jayne, I think it's great you showed us what a lovely could be done with that fabric.

I actually think it is interesting to see how a viewed ugly fabric can be made into a striking quilt. When I took my stack-n whack class, our instructions were to buy the ugliest fabric we could find, the bigger the repeat the better.
Jayne -Yours is very pretty and the ugly fabric adds interesting variety.
Beverly - I think everyone had great fun with this and have been good sports laughing about ourselves and our ugly fabric choices. This was a good, fun break from the winter blues.
Can't wait to see your creation!
