Uh oh, No Tomato Paste

I decided to try a crock-pot pasta sauce recipe, stopped at the store and bought the ingredients, and have it all prepped and ready to go. That is, except for the tomato paste.

Somehow I missed that from the list I made and didn't buy it; I don't have any.

Should I go without it or should I pick up tomato paste tomorrow and cook on Friday, instead? Thoughts? Alternatives?
