Learned something new to share with you!

I frequent another quilting forum and there is a lady that is a professional long arm quilter. She said that when she adds her bindings to a quilt (regardless of the width), she does not press it in half first. Instead she holds the edges together and sews it on the front of the quilt as you would ordinarily do. When it is all sewn on, she then presses away from the quilt because if you press first, you lose of lot by turning it over the quilt, batting and backing.

I just tried that on three of the quilts that I just finished and it works great. It folds over beautifully and it saves that step of pressing your binding which I never enjoyed doing anyway. You get that perfect edge because it is already sewn down. Then just proceed as you would normally sew the binding to the back of your quilt.

I hope you find this helpful. I sure did!
