Pebble sheen or Pebble Tec decking finish
Comments (2)I used a similar product to cover my concrete retaining walls and I did resurface one sidewalk that is very heavy traffic and it is not slippery at all when wet. The process ny installers used was actually a 2 part epoxy installation and it appears very durable...I love the look. Cost me about $5.00 a sq. ft. installed...See MorePebble Tec and Pebble Sheen with kids!
Comments (7)Diamond Brite will vary in price BIGTIME. If your entertaining one of their premium colors like Midnight Blue you'll find out the upgrade cost isn't nearly as bad as if your jumping up from a Blue or a Blue Quartz. The price per bag, at my cost, is nearly $20 more per bag on Midnight -vs- Blue. And a pool uses a whole bunch of bags. My suggestion is go with Pebble Tec/Sheen. Just-a-pb, I've always paid the same for Sheen-vs-Tec on all pricing levels. Is this a promo from the Mfg to the applicator on a discounted price per bag, or is it something your applicator is doing on his own to drum up more Sheen applications? Comments (13)Thank you all!!! My e-mail is sheri at shweri dot com. Would love any photos. Very appreciative! Is ocean blue darker than midnight blue? I thought they were same. Or do smaller pebbles end up changing color? And thus, is Turtle Bay, which folks here love, loved more than Emerald Bay? Funny, I saw a photo of one, but not labeled. I said, whatever this color is, that's the one I'm going to get. Pebbletec let me know it was Black Pearl. I do love the black ones, but nervous they will be too pondy in some lights. Or affect resale down the road. But they are gorgeous. You all have me sold on abalone! That's one decision down! Ah, that may be why Turtle Bay is seeming loved over Emerald Bay! Turtle Bay has enough I don't need to add any, right? Thank you again. You guys have been more help than PebbleTec, builder, and PT installer! And thanks natural_one for the offer of photos! sheri...See MorePebbleTec Tahoe Blue vs. PebbleSheen Blue Granite
Comments (6)I'm in total agreement with you about green! Green = algae = not in my pool! Our plaster guy was really pushing Tahoe Blue, not sure why, although I got a hint from one of the installers that it might be one of the cheaper mixes. Anyhow... After looking at many, many pictures online and talking to people, I found that Tahoe Blue definitely has a bit of green to it. I'm guessing it's named after a lake because natural bodies of water are green-blue because of plants living in them. The ocean only looks pure blue on Sandals Resorts commercials. ;) We were between Midnight Blue and Tropics Blue and ended up using Tropics Blue (Stonescapes mini pebble) and we really like it. I think it's as close to a true medium blue as I've seen in a pool. It's dark enough to capture a little bit of heat but light enough to see the bottom clearly, and it has a really beautiful shimmer when the sun is on it. And we really like how the actual pebbles look where you can see them on the steps and in the spa. It's a really nice mix of colors. Now at some moments it might have a touch of the windex-look you're talking about. Thanks for that, by the way, I was calling it Kool Aid! But overall, it's a really nice, rich, shimmery, medium blue. I suggest that you search online for images of the exact color names you're looking at. Look at many pictures and take in the whole range. Don't just focus on one image you like because there's no guarantee of how exactly it will look in your pool, in your yard, with your sunlight, etc. Good luck!...See Moremcasil
