My daughter found the cutest green washer....(Martha Stewart green with tiny white flecks all over.) It had a tub and a spinner tub attached. She bought it at a garage sale while they were here visiting. They lived in Minn. at the time. She left it here for several months. During that time we had water in the basement and I needed to wash...I plugged that old thing in and by golly it worked. It leaked ....but it was out on the covered porch...so I didn't care. It spun those cloths out so dry it didn't take them long to get completely dry. I just fell in love with it. She finally came and took it "home" with her... Then a few years ago she moved back and LEFT that little machine in her back yard. I would love to have had it. I could have strangled her for doing that. Arrrgggg. If I ever see another as cute I'm dragging it home...even if I have to tow it with my bicycle...LOL patti

Have you looked at the Samsung 800? It was our backup option after purchasing a pair of KA KUDE10 (which have the side vent--I didn't find out about the problems until I saw a thread on GW after they were installed. We simply leave the adjacent cabinet open when the DWs run to eliminate the condensation factor.) I really liked the Samsung, but I couldn't get 2 of them here in time for the install (builder gave 24 hr notice on needing the appliances--thank heavens I had already ordered the rangetop, ovens & hood!!) Anyway, the Samsung has the fan assist drying, food grinder (no pre-rinsing!), multiple cycles, dual wash arms, wash progress lights, adjustable upper rack, super quiet & reasonably priced. i remember your post, it was one of the few times ive had time to be here. hard to let them go..i have a 14 year old neice and oh boy talk about an over protective aunt..ill admit im terrible lol! im trying though...shes very mature for her age and resposible but since i just moved now i feel ...lost lol. lordy i didnt know this aunty thing was going to be just as bad as parenting. anyway so happy hes having a blast fishing...congrats to you...your raising a fine young man!!!!

He reminds me of my GS. They're about the same age and both are growing UP and not OUT! Alex was taller than I (which isn't too hard to do) when he was 11. He's 5'10" now and only weighs 128.

I like your hair, Glenda. Are you growing it out?

When my kids were young, I remember watching boys from the end of 8th grade to starting high school in 9th grade. That summer after 8th grade, so many of them shoot up and fill out and a totally different looking boy shows up for 9th grade. Of course, you know they have also outgrown all their clothes too!
