Older by nine months.

Harry's almost 13 years older than I am, but he's young at heart. Wish his health was better, but I'm happy with him no matter what. (I'm 66 and he's 79.)

cmama...see if this sounds familiar. My second husband...he's 75, I'm 61. He is very fit and healthy, started on his very first prescription (simvastatin for high cholesterol) 2 years ago. We go dancing twice a week, and he outlasts me (especially on the polkas).
A couple of weeks ago, he lifted his foot on the check-out counter at a local store (long story). The lady behind him in line couldn't believe he could do that.
He said the only disadvantage of marrying a "kid" is waiting so long for me to start drawing Social Security!

My husband is six years older. We've been together 34 years, married 31. I like using him as a reference person. Today I asked him if he rememberered 3 cent stamps, he said he even remembered when postage was two cents.

My husband is 9 months older than I am. I am 75.

Hubby is 3 years older. Oldest daughter married a guy 9 years older and youngest one married a guy 15 years older. All seems to be working great..

DH is six months older than me. Works perfectly for us.

My DH is 7.5 years older than I am. I'll be 60 next week and he is 67. He is soooo excited I'm finally retiring a the end of the month. He is young at heart but his health isn't great.

DH is almost nine years older.....and we have been married 48+ years.
Generally age hasn't been a problem but today he is acting and walking like an old man. (He has been sitting on his backside watching sports all day.)
He is usually an active person and a lot of fun.

My DH is 17 years older. We've been together for 30 years, and married for 25.

Age isn't a problem for us - though it was for my friends when we first got together. Family was actually easier. I was 23 and he was 40. We're still together these many years later, and on good terms with his children from his first marriage, and our son.

My hubby is 4 years older than me.

I always tell him he robbed the cradle.

He is growing older than I am a lot faster.

I think it is because of the stroke.

It makes me sad for him and us.

I'm 56 and DH is turning 70 this year... but he's the young'un of the family. He's in terrific shape, good health, and young at heart. I'm feeling more his age than mine, primarily due to the meds I think (hope).

I am 2 months older.

I was 7 years and 4 months younger than my first hubs. We married when I was 21 and he was 28. He died at the age of 43 (inoperable brain tumor).

I am 22 months older than my (current, second) hubs. We've been together for 29 years, married for 24 (well, our anniversary is next month).

My husband was almost 13 years older than I. He was very vigorous, always tackling one project or another, much more fit than I, and far more physically active. But when he was 65 he began having symptoms of dementia, which got progressively worse for ten years before he died.

Incidentally, my parents were 11 years apart (my dad the older), and my DH's parents were the same.

I'm 6 1/2 years older than Wes. We never give it a thought. Most people think he's older than me.

Each year at my birthday, MIL asks how old I am and then gasps, and shreiks, and says "I didn't know you were that much older than him!"

I then tell her that every year, for the past 17 years, she's asked how old I was. After telling her 17 times for 17 years in a row that I am older it seems she'd quit the fake heart-attack, crying, screaming act.

DH is almost 8 yrs older than me. I'm 57 and he's turning 65 next week. He retires at the end of this month and then we move to Stratford. He's definitely healthier than I am.

Caroline, you should tell her you're younger, I bet she'd remember your right age then!

I am 2 years older than my wife. We'll have a 50th anniversary later this year. We've agreed that the trial period is over and that we'll give the marriage a few more years. LOL. She's the punster - Don't get her primed; You'll get ripped. One of her favorite cartoons is "Frank and Earnest".

My hubby is six years older. I remember when we started dating, I was 24 and he was 30. That seemed so old to me. Now he's 63 and I'm 57. Doesn't seem so much. My two sisters are both cougars. Each is one year older than her husband. And my daughter is dating a guy she met in high school, when he was a Junior and she a Senior.

Caroline, I agree with Joan. Next birthday, lie. Lie big. She'll either have to admit that she knew your age all along, or keep her mouth shut. Either way, it'll be a nice birthday present to yourself. :-)

I'm 3 years older than my DH.
My dad is 12 years older than my mom, and my sister's husband is 12 years older than her...so I guess I had to stop that tradition!!

Today is Hub's 70th birthday. Last night before we went to bed he was feeling OLD and sorry for himself. I'm 62. Tomorrow is our son's 34th birthday, so we're having a joint celebration today - with 7 candles, because 3 + 4 = 7 and 70 is seven decades!

It's never been a problem until the last few weeks when Hub started "practicing" being 70. "I'm old now, Sher. Might as well get used to it." Or, "Do you mind being married to such an old man?" Or, "When I was young I could do that sort of thing." At first I thought he was kidding, today he's still asleep at 9:30 AM!

I am 3 years older than my DH. I've always liked slightly younger men, first DH was 2 years younger than me.

He is 4 days older!! lol

Vince is 5 months older than me He is 86. We have our 65th Anniversary this fall.

DH will be 72 this year. I just turned 69.

I *thought* he was handling getting old better than I until a few months ago. (Do you think it upset him that I've started reading the Irish Funnies? LOL)

Near Christmas, he learned that a business colleague had incurable cancer; he decided to forgo treatment and enter hospice. (He died in two months). Then came the Christmas letter from a cousin, a minister, who talked about traveling for his sister's funeral and reminded everyone, "The clock is ticking." (Thanks for that.) Last summer DH had his first broken bone -- went over backwards on a porch rocker, trying to catch a ball thrown by DGS, and broke his collarbone.

He's in 'perfect' physical health, says his GP, who also said he could stop taking his one med, a statin for cholesterol. He's trim, healthy, no worries, but suddenly *anxious*. It's like a delayed 'mid-life crisis'.

Has anyone else experienced this? What helps?

Yes, Chisue, my hub is also anxious. He worries about money all the time. Dear friends and relatives are dying, we've each had a recent bout with cancer, the kids are not all "launched" yet. Yesterday we attended a one-year anniversary of the death of the 34 yo son of good friends. Today is my hub's 70th b'day, and despite all the well-wishes of the day's callers, he seems to be in the dumps. I don't believe he had a mid-life crisis to speak of, so maybe there is such a thing as a delayed one.

I sure hope he and Mr. Chisue get over it. I'm used to having a calm, even-tempered poet for a husband, not a nervous wreck.

sherrmann -- It sounds like your DH has CAUSE for stress, although he may be magnifying the bad within the whole of life.

I don't know what has set off this anxiety in my DH. Maybe it's just part of *realizing* he is mortal? He went mildly crazy after his last HS reunion too. Was really looking forward to it, but the next day he was very depressed.

DH is 4 years older, turned 77 last Tuesday and I'll be 73 in May.

IT's funny, you talk about the DH's worried about getting old. My dh had colon cancer at 59, weight got down to 111, he almost died. We were thrilled to celebrate his 60th birthday, and he still is thankful, he was just as happy about turning 70 and then 75 this year.
All a matter of perspective, he just keeps saying getting old is better than the alternative!

Three months older.

Stan is four years older than I am.

Dh is 5 years older. I was 17 when we started dating and he was 22. Our first date was to a school dance and he asked me if he had to have permission to go to my school and I told him no they wouldn't care that he was from out of town and he said no but they might mind that I am over 21. I had no idea how old he was at the time and when I learned he was 22 I thought he was so old! :0) He just turned 40 this year!

SIL is 11 yrs. older than DD

I keep telling DD that isn't married to look for those that are 9 years older! LOL
