It's a moral imperative. And to her credit, eventually, she saw the humor.
Raoul Martinez, ZomorodiÃ¢ÂÂs co-anchor on the Fox-affiliateÃ¢ÂÂs morning show, shared an intriguing news item on Friday: a new app that allows you to taste and smell food or beverages right on your smartphone or iPad. Smirking, Martinez asked Zomorodi to try it out with him.

After Zomorodi skeptically sniffed and even licked an iPad, it was revealed that the Ã¢ÂÂVirtual SipÃ¢ÂÂ app was, yes, an April FoolÃ¢ÂÂs prank (video above).

Ã¢ÂÂMy peeps got me good,Ã¢ÂÂ Zomorodi wrote on her Facebook page following the prank. Ã¢ÂÂCanÃ¢ÂÂt believe I fell for it!!!Ã¢ÂÂ

Well, you can smell my iPhone. But then, I have a Jelly Belly blue-raspberry scentd cover on mine. LOL

I Really get TICKED when I read garbage like that website. I HATE when people try to tear up the bible with their uneducated, not thought through babble. What does it say in the bible about Lying? I posted a couple of times about the scam a large hospital here tried on first DH when he went in for a femoral bypass. When he was admitted, we specifically asked if the hospital accepted our insurance. The response was "yes". Shortly after his surgery and discharge, he got a bill for several thousand dollars for services during surgery. I called the hospital, and they told me that the hospital and surgical bills were paid by our insurance, but anesthesia services was a separate company that did not accept that insurance (Aetna). We refused to pay the bill, saying that we were told that insurance covered it. Well, he was scheduled for a second surgery on the other leg, and when we went in, I asked the anesthesiologist if he was in private practice or worked for the hospital - his answer was that he worked for the hospital. I just happened to meet a person who worked on Medicare Fraud. He mentioned a scam that many hospitals work, by creating a holding company that separated many services into separate corporations - the hospital in general, anesthesiology, radiology, etc. That way, they would have the hospital corp. sign on to accept Medicare and other large insurance companies, but the other corporations would not sign on to insurance companies - thus allowing them to bill patients for services they assumed were covered by the hospital. I called the hospital Administrator's office, and left a message spelling out this information to his secretary. Also said we were not paying fraudulent bills, and I would call Aetna, and the local TV stations if they sent another bill. I then called Aetna and reported them. My husband was at work.....a couple of hours, he received a call from the hospital, saying that they were "forgiving" the bills.

That must've frustrated you horribly! I hate that as well, and there are a LOT of that guy's relatives living around here. It rains a lot, and they all think that not only do they have to go over the speed limit, they think I need to as well as evidenced by them getting close enough to my bumper to push me :-P . I swear I'm going to have a bumper sticker made that says "Riding my a$$ will NOT make the car in front of me go ANY faster". I'll never forget my first brush with road rage - this was back in the early 90s - I was on the interstate (3 lanes each way) and driving in the middle lane, minding my own business when out of the blue off of the on-ramp this guy flew out of nowhere and into my lane in front of me. There were no other cars around, he could/should have picked either the far right lane (that technically he would have been in anyway from the ramp) or even the far left. Out of reflex I threw up my hands like "what are you thinking?" - didn't flip him off or anything, was more of a puzzled gesture to myself if anything. He apparently did not like it and not only followed me but tried 2 or 3 times to run me off of the road. He was an older gentleman, with a lady (his wife probably? poor woman!) in the car sitting next to him swatting him over the head. I see the humor in it now, lol, but at the time I was not amused. This was before cell phones were common, and I was very young. I kept driving, trying to be as evasive as I could and still stay safe, and he eventually gave up. I think I shook for an hour afterwards. Some people have no sense, and just don't realize that when they get behind the wheel they are utilizing a weapon. I LOVE that link! I am copying it and posting it on the bulletin board at work- in a vet office. I have seen all of the above and probably more but people get stupid with visions of dollar signs dancing in their heads. How about when the girl is bred but it doesn't take and she gets a pyometra, a life-threatening infection of the uterus which requires emergency spay (at emergency surgery cost- like $600-1200 and even more if there are further complications) and even then she might not live? Or how about all the puppies have worms which causes diarrhea so bad that they strain so much their colons prolapse? Wait, the c-section at the emergency clinic is $1400?!

A true story from the police blotter.

A fella had been drinking and drove to Wal Mart to load up on more munchies for TV watching. As he exited the store, he could not find his car and concluded it had been stolen. He flips open his cell phone and reports his car as stolen. Just as the police are pulling into the aprking lot, he remembers: I drove my OTHER car, and there it is! He starts to explain to the police his error and heads toward his car to make a hasty exit. But, not so fast. The cop got a whiff of his breath and noticed his unstable condition. A quick sobriety test was made and of course, our subject failed it miserable. Now, the police has reason enough to demand a search of his car. They find a bong pipe and drugs. The jig is up! The police reason that he drove drunk to the store and issued a DUI ticket, and now they are hauling him off to jail on a drug charge.

What a bad day. This driver turned himself in. It was he who made the phone call in the first place. There must have been some giggling when this report was written up.

I saw a clip of that joke, and yes she was a good sport but I couldn't believe she fell for it. I surely hope we don't get smell-a-tech. The good or bad of an aroma is the nose of the beholder. There are some I like, and some that makes me queezy. Now taste-a-tech, you have a choice of whether you stick your tongue on something or not. Then there is the Q of who else has had their tongue there? Decisions, decisions!

Didn't movie theaters once experiment with Smell-O-Vision -- or is that my faulty memory? (What an awful idea.)

So weird to see 3-D making a comeback all over the place.

Your memory's not faulty. I recall when they experimented with the smells during the movie. I don't recall the name of the movie but I'm glad it didn't catch on, although they're starting to push a home version to augment home video watching. They won't get a buck outta me, that's fersure.

Now the Wake'n Bacon, (rise & swine everyone) there's a smell to wake you up.

Oh, boy! That would really tick me off, if I got woke up by the aroma of frying bacon.......and there wasn't any!! Heads would roll!!! LOL
