I have been waiting around to see if anyone had an answer for you regarding Trilogy Pools. Unfortunately, the ecomony and my husband's business has pushed me back on my plans for a pool, but I may be back on track with my plans very shortly and I am interested in a Trilogy Pool. I have e-mailed them a few times for a list of installers in my area, Memphis, but have not received a reply. Haven't called them yet but have only been able to discover one builder in my area so far that installs Trilogy pools. I am very interested in your experience so far. I have noticed that there are only a handful of people here who have installed fiberglass, but every one of them seems to love the choice they made. I have owned both gunite and vinyl, and this time am interested in fiberglass for my specific needs.... I wish someone had some experience they could pass on, but I hope you will post here to let us know about your install. Thanks.

Spa advice: Set your kitchen chairs around in the pattern you're getting (circle?) and use a tape measure to approximate the sizes you're considering. Then sit a bunch of people in the chairs and see how it feels. Are your knees all bumping together? Then, have someone measure the height from the seat of the chair (bottom of your butt) to the height that you want the water when you're simmering in the spa. Around here the standard is 18", but I had mine dropped to 21" because I wanted the water over my armpits. If you have a tall torso (or big butt in my case) the standard height would put the water just above my sternum - too low for me. I also had the PB stagger the heights of the jets, so that each seat would hit a different part of my back, although the range is not huge. Hope this helps.

On the tanning lounge do you plan on having lounge chairs there? I ask because the dimensions sound tight, you might want to actually measure it out and see what it looks like. When I had my pool built the design guy described a beach entry that serves as a lounge area like 6" deep it measures 3' X 16' . I wish I would have measured it out on paper it looked adequate but it really is more like a extra deep bench. In retrospect I should have had it measure out 6' depth and 16' length.

A few questions / comments for you... I am a design consultant for swimming pool builders, landscape architects, and homeowners helping them wade through the often murky waters of swimming pool builder jargon among other issues like hydraulic design and engineering coordination. I don't have much experience with vinyl pools, but can give some input on a few items in your list. 1. Is your heater specified as an electric heat pump or Propane Heater? 2. What is the "auto-cleaner"? There are numerous manufacturers of robotic cleaners, with a litany of price & quality levels. 3. Since you have a salt system specified along with a diving board, basketball hoop, rails, ladder, and slide, you need to be sure the specified items are designed by the manufacturer to resist corrosion. Check out the manufacturer information to be sure, most like SR Smith have decent websites where you can find the "salt pool" or "corrosion resistant" options. 4. Does the price for the winter cover include installation? Many builders will include the winter cover, then charge for the installation & installation hardware separately. 5. For ease of long term maintenance, water clarity, and pump longevity, it's important to know the size of the sand filter... and in my opinion consider a filtration method with higher flow rates like a Cartridge filter... Consider the flow rates through the pipes (ask what size the pipes will be), and then compare with the filter chosen. I know this may sound ridiculous to go through the effort, but it's extremely important for longevity and often overlooked by code officials and pool builders alike. If your pump's location and water demands result in 90 gpm of flow, and you have the pipes sized at 1.5", you will exceed the allowable pipe velocities on both suction and return piping, depending on how it's plumbed....The big issue though will be the filter unless it's sized appropriately. The maximum flow rate listed in Haywards manual for the S310T2 and S360T2T (just to choose one), with 1.5" plumbing is 45 GPM, and with 2" plumbing 80 GPM... you may not have a problem with 2", but in my opinion it's not worth the hassle. You could eliminate backwashing with a cartridge type filter, like the Hayward Swim Clear mid-sized version, and be able to move the water through at higher flow rates, so the pump doesn't have to work so hard. If you have the Hayward Super II pump, it's known as one of the "unkillables" out there, as it notoriously can weather quite a bit of abuse. But why abuse it in the first place? You have the opportunity to do it right from the start. 6. Were you given an option for a Hayward Variable Speed pump? If not, please be sure to ask. It can cost more on the front end, but will be much quieter, and draw less electricity. 7.
