building pool and pool house-advice please

We are putting in a trilogy pool and building a pool house at the same time. The pool house is divided in two with the back half for storage for garden stuff and the front for pool and entertaining. We aren't putting a bathroom in it because we have one right in the back of the house with it's own entrance door but are putting a fridge and sink in there. Anyone ever use peacock pavers around the pool?? Any advice on trilogy pools??

I have been waiting around to see if anyone had an answer for you regarding Trilogy Pools. Unfortunately, the ecomony and my husband's business has pushed me back on my plans for a pool, but I may be back on track with my plans very shortly and I am interested in a Trilogy Pool. I have e-mailed them a few times for a list of installers in my area, Memphis, but have not received a reply. Haven't called them yet but have only been able to discover one builder in my area so far that installs Trilogy pools. I am very interested in your experience so far.

I have noticed that there are only a handful of people here who have installed fiberglass, but every one of them seems to love the choice they made. I have owned both gunite and vinyl, and this time am interested in fiberglass for my specific needs....

I wish someone had some experience they could pass on, but I hope you will post here to let us know about your install.

We are outside Nashville and the guy who does the fiberglass pools has a great reputation. We got fiberglass because the liner pools were almost the same price and we liked the ease of installation. We got the color Zen, it is a greeny blue. They came and posted the building permit two days ago. I didn't like any of the shapes so Trilogy cut two pools in half and remade a shape for me, apparently the owner likes it so much they are going to offer it from now on! We shall see how it goes! They are going to start the hole next week!

This is very helpful feedback. It sounds like I need to consider putting two lights on the house side, one near the deep end and one in the shallow end both pointing toward the raised beam. But I could get away with just one down the center with no major shadows. racket: the pool will have Stonescapes Tahoe Blue. I'm not sure I understand what you meant by "If its dark/pebble one length" Could you please clarify? About the drains....The engineering drawing (which I don't have a copy of right now, it may be out hanging on the fence) and my contract indicate only 2. The sketch always showed 4 though...not sure why. njfolks: At the rate we're making changes, it may be next summer before digging... Please let us know how your lighting works out. Anyone have an opinion about having only one skimmer with a vacuum side cleaner?

Request for advice on spa niche issue during pool build

Following up to post what happened... They ended up chiseling out and further recessing the jets that were higher on the spa (not enough room to fill with plaster due to the waterline tile). They filled in more plaster material around the lower jets. It looks fine visually, but we haven't yet been able to try them out since they are still finishing up some other things. The jet niches looked a little odd in the pictures above because they had duct tape covering them from when the pool was shot. The one uncovered picture had part of the fitting in place already (so wasn't just the niche piece). The pool builder did go over the jet heights with us prior to installation and the heights were as expected (other than the one that ended up a tad high and just overlapped the pool tile). Our main issue was the fact the spa wall was shot too deep and then adjusting the wall depth caused more issues. They are working to make sure everything is fine for us. Hopefully no one else has this issue, but if you do you can see what they did in our case. If we have issues with the jets I will post more, but at this point I'm expecting the issue has been resolved.

That's a great find thank you! Did it happen to have the dimensions. I found a number of small pools on the web too but mostly the smallest ones I found were in Australia. In Florida there are all sort of rules about setbacks so I'm not able to put the pool to close the house or to close to the back fence which rules out some of the great design ideas that I've seen. It's just a matter of getting creative.

Your best bet is to first contact a soil engineer to get a better understanding of the property you plan to build on. If blasting or hammering is needed for either structure, it should be performed at the same time. This will prevent possible damage to either structure. A structural engineer is necessary for the pool as well as the house. Someone with experience working in terrain of this nature and also and home and pool construction is recommended. It's not a job for someone to "wing it". There are many considerations to be met working on a hillside-rock or nor rock.

Please post pictures as you go.... Great idea about the pool shape..... it will be neat to see the progress.
