Strange question on deck support/post

I am building a 3' wide walkway/gangway from a concrete slab porch down to the level of a dock on the waterfront. Total length is maybe 60 feet with a slope of around 15 degrees. The walkway would never be more than a foot or two from grade.I was thinking of seperating up the walkway with a landing in the middle.

OK let me get to my question.

I was thinking of using galvanized 7' chain link fence post embedded into concrete footings to support the whole thing. I am not talking about the thin wall stuff but rather the commercial grade thicker wall post.

My possibly twisted reasoning is the post being embedded in the concrete will provide more lateral support than a typical pier/4x4 and would be less likely to slide down the hill.

The main reasoning is I think it would be much easier.

Has anyone ever done this or seen it done?
