I'm doing my pool DIY, using what is known as one of the best plumbers in our area. We got our wires crossed on my pool/spa pump which I asked for an intelliflo VF 3050, they gave me a VS. We have 3 sheers on a separate 1.5 HP whispher flo. Looking into VS vs VF, since we plan to run the spa on the pump and solar at some point, people on the forum are pointing out the VF is not the best for solar and spa, but the VS may lack the feature controls (only 4 speeds) to work all these features (filter, cleaner, solar, spa, etc). I hoping you experienced guys will weigh in!! Should I press for a change and get the VF or just stick with the VS and get a credit? I should mention that the plumbing is in and equipment is set. Alternatively I could keep the VS (assuming it works for what I need) and ask for a flow meter to be installed, seems like most people complain about not knowing the gpm's with a VS. Help me out, thanks a bunch.
