OMG!!! I had the same thing happen to me! I would hear the sound of a digital camera flash/capture (slow click sound) about every 5 - 10 minutes, or so!! Very scary!! 1 have 4 different computers in my home: I have 1 (IBM Thinkpad) laptop, which was the ONLY computer I used to go on line. The other 3 PCs (HP, Mac, Dell) have NEVER been connected to the internet - but do have a wireless that I disabled after I noticed the problem with the camera flash sound. ALL of my comptuers now make this sound!!! Just started happening in December 2008 and I've been looking for some information, or mention of someone with the same problem SINCE then. This is the first time anyone else has reported the same issue. >> When I checked the Device Manager and revealed all hidden devices, I noticed that there was a "Video Capture" controller, and some other wierd things that have never been there before: a bunch of controllers, terminal services keyboard, terminal services mouse, terminal services redirector, more video controllers, video capture devices, channels, pipes, some kind of message que process... ALL of which I never installed on my computer and I can't figure out when they became installed. After trying to disable the Video Capture controller, I noticed the camera sound went away, and NOW my CD drive makes a noise at the same approximate 5 - 10 minutes interval. SOMETHING is happening. I thought that I was really proficient with my computer, but I missed something and now I've been breached. I believe that my computer activities are being "captured," or photographed (maybe even video recorded) and are transmitted somewhere through one of the "secure" pipes that I discovered on my computer. I NEED HELP! I have a bunch of other related issues, but this was the start of everything. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP. (No my camera isn't attached, no I didn't change the audio drivers yet, because I never changed them in the first place, and they've been working well until now.) I want to know WHY it has happened before I start to change what this "thing" has done. I need to understand it so that I can combat it. CAN ANYONE HELP?

Just from my own real life experience as the mother two toddlers, I can tell you I own over $3000 worth of DSLR body and lenses. My best shots of my kids actually come from my Nikon Coolpix S8100 (under $200). I'll give you the lag time is more than my fancy DLSR. And yes, when I have time to pull the DLSR out I can get a much better photograph, but I can stick my Coolpix in any bag I am taking anywhere and it is always with me. So I get all the candids. My DLSR is bulky (and my kids come with enough baggage already. I love my DSLR, don't get me wrong, I have it for many other reasons, but if she is looking for great shots of her child, a fairly easy point and shoot is way more practical. Kalindi

I love the Grassland, too. Roger on the Sell This House show used it once in all the rooms, and it looked great. I did end up going w/ the Svelte Sage in the kitchen, and my painter was able to get the Nomadic Desert mixed at Lowes properly, so that definietly saved me some money. They both look great! Now I just need to replace the flooring in those 2 rooms. Something happened to my icemaker line over the holidays while I was out of town, so half of my LR carpet is currently gone. It also got under they vinyl a little at the 2 doorways (LR and hallway) and warped the kitchen floor plywood underlayment a little, so the vinyl will be replaced. I was planning on replacing them anyway, so I see this as a blessing in disguise! However, I may change my mind depending on how much my homeowners insurace goes up come May renewal time - eek!

Well, let me throw in my two cents. I reckon when it comes to keeping an eye on things outside your crib, having a solid CCTV camera is key. It's like having an extra set of eyes that never get tired! Now, about those cameras on the list, they seem pretty slick, but personally, I'm all about finding that sweet spot between quality and price. Ain't nobody got stacks to drop on something that's overkill, right? In my experience, durability is a biggie. You want something that can handle the elements without fizzling out on you when it starts pouring rain or snowing like crazy. Plus, ease of setup and use is clutch. Ain't nobody got time for complicated installations and tech dramas.
