help me find an old post, please

I am looking for a post I made a while back about my doctor suggestion of taking some supplements that his wife sells.

I threw away the literature that he gave me and I cannot the remember the name of the marketing company.

I want to know becuase she (dr's wife) called me yesterday. She called at home (saw on my caller ID) and I was not there - then called my cell phone. It' not bad enough that doctor is giving out contact information (My cell phone, REALLY!?!?), but after some small talk introducing herself, and me saying I don't have time...she says something like - "with the conditions you suffer from, this product could really help you.." ( I have migraines)

Only one way she knows my "condition"...

Now I am gettting angry.

It's time to write a letter to Attorney General I think, but I cannot remember the name of the company.

Can anyone help me?

Are you talking about Juice Plus? I do remember the post just not the product.

Yes, this is the house I was thinking of but there has to be another posting by Tinker. I remember Squirrel doing numerous mock-ups for her fireplace wall which is shown in the last picture of her Oct. 3rd post. When I did a search for Tinker this did not appear and it had to be after the kitchen pictures. Strange. Hope you find it ellied.

I remember Francey's thread very well because it almost convinced me not to get soapstone. But after reading the responses of others, the white water marks seemed rare so I took the chance thinking it wouldn't happen to me (and it probably wouldn't have if I'd gone with Bucks County Soapstone). But it did happen and like Pluckymama, I was very close to having the counters removed and replaced with something else. They are much better since Joshua refinished them. Keep in mind, these rings are not the dark rings you get that can be wiped off. Essentially, what happens, is that the water removes the oil from the stone (don't ask me how). You won't have this problem if you don't oil your stone and the rings/spots vanish with re-oiling. I'll repeat what I've stated in other threads on this topic. I tried tap water, filtered water and distilled water...they all left white spots.

I think I know who you are trying to find but I can't remember her name. It was something like mycountryhome. Ask over on decorating because I think she owned a restaurant and did something very nice for another member's son once. I do believe she had 19 or 20 kids. They ran into trouble completing their build and I think someone from gardenweb directed them to some kind of farm loan. Someone on decorating will know.

Thanks Chemocurl, I wanted to include the name in my complaint letter(s).
angelaid, yes I am furious. I am tyring to hold off writing and mailing a letter for a couple days. I want to make sure I sound intelligent and mad enough to be threatening, but not so mad that I'm a lunatic.

That is completely unacceptable. I hope you don't contact him first, but write directly to the powers that be and send a copy to him. Explain the first situation in the office (I didn't reread the previous post so don't remember if he or his nurse brought it up) and then being contacted by his wife.

Sharing private and personal data like this, I don't think I'd write a letter like this. I think I'd consult with a few different attorneys. This sounds potentially actionable to me. Sharing patient data is inexcusable.

So not right....isn't that in my eyes like gossiping about a patient that came in? Telling medical info to anyone is not what a dr. is supposed to do..and so his wife can make a profit off of the product she sells????????? I would so do something about this and find a new dr. asap! Stacy

Just a thought but could it be the doctor's secretary that is leaking the records and not the doctor? Anyone in his office could have access to your records so you really should find out first just who it was that is involved.

You could be right, heather, but I would think that you would still file a complaint with the medical board (or whoever it is that you file a complaint with) and they would investigate and find that out...Plus, the doctor is kind of responsible for his staff anyway; asking and tipping them off may not be the best route.

salgal, I would be mad about it, and if you had the inclination, time and money, I would consider talking to a lawyer.

Is there a chance you signed a released form for his wife to be given your info, or for him to release it openly as he has and you didn't know it? I could see a doctor like this slipping that in without you really knowing. Dr.s generally aren't this dumb.

Hold off on writing letters until you have consulted an attorney. You may have a case, and if you do, let your attorney guide you in actions to take. You could inadvertently jeopardize your case if you start a vendetta too soon, and if you do not have proper documentation to back it up. From what you have posted, your doctor-patient confidentiality has been breeched. However, think back. When logging for treatment, did you sign any papers with fine print that you did not read in full? There could have been a cover-your-butt statement therein that permitted marketing products to you. What has happened in your case does seem brazen. It would seem logical that the Doctor's office would know this and would have covered this situation somehow. If not, it has the potential to be a very expensive mistake.
