'Cell Power Error' Message - Aqua Logic AQL-P-4

I am getting this message on my automated chlorinator system. When I turn off all power to it through the breakers and then turn them on, this error message goes away and I am able to get data from the cell in the Diagnostic menu. This error is different than the "no cell power" error mentioned in these forums. I have checked the circuit board and there are no obvious burnt components or bad solder joints.

Anyone experience this issue before and know what causes it and how to fix it?

This happened to us a couple of years ago - we have the same one. It wound up being a bad panel which Goldline/Hayward replaced under warranty.

I was afraid of that. I am a second owner and so the warranty has expired. This is probably going to really cost me.

Well the lady from the office called with the soil sample results, left a message with my wife today. Very interesting. I took 3 natural unaltered samples from the area I'm developing for blueberries, as well as 2 more much farther down the slope with different trees and soil. The three were pH: 4.62; 4.58; 4.77. The other two are: 4.76; 4.88. That sounds pretty damned perfect. They said the E.C. (I assume this is Electical Continuity) was 0.01. This is a new concept for me. But she said it means the citrus we grow there will need fertilizer. How about the blueberries? I imagine I'll need to be careful with the ammonia sulfate as it will lower the pH, and I may be in the unusual position of the pH being too acidic for blueberries. What's good cheap fertilizer I can buy for this location for blueberries? As a side, I slipped in 3 more samples from different locations: The area most of my blueberry plants are being temporarily held right now (5.42) ; nice looking large vegetable garden plot I made (6.19 with EC of 0.42); and my backyard (7.24). So everything looks to be right on track. I thought my backyard was interesting, as this is an old suburban area and there's a lot of concrete and gravel around and it must've leached into the soil. That's my guess anyway.

Do you use softener sheets in the dryer? Try cleaning the sensor bars with rubbing alcohol. There's a diagnostic for the sensor bars thusly: With the power Off, press and hold Auto Dry Down, then press Power. It'll beep once, but no panel lights come on. Press Auto Dry Up five times. A few lights on the panel may flicker. Brush your fingers or a damp cloth over the sensor bars, and the flickering indicator lights will change to show it's sensing moisture. The lights should drop back when the moisture evaporates off the bars. If the lights don't change, then there's a problem with the bars or sensor circuit. Press any cycle button (Delicate, Regular, etc.) to exit the diagnostic. By return duct, I assume you mean exhaust duct. What does the 6-foot distance involve exactly? Is that the distance from back of the dryer to the wall? Or is it the FULL length from back of the dryer to outside the house? If the ducting to outside the house is longer, have you examined/cleaned the FULL length of it to confirm there's not a clog somewhere? The machine can generally detect an exhaust blockage by way of high element temperature due to insufficient airflow. It will signal a problem by beeping and flashing the Auto Sensing light during the cycle, and it should continue beeping and flashing after the cycle ends until any panel button is pressed. If the blockage is bad enough, the elements will overheat and trip the manual-reset overheat protector. The dryer will then run but there'll be no heat until the reset button behind the front panel is pressed. Shouldn't be any need to replace the heating elements (yes, there are two) unless something is actually wrong with them. Was there a confirmed problem with them, or was the repairman replacing them just trying to find a fix to the problem? Wrinkle free element? There's no "element" for that. (Or are you using the word "element" to mean "feature?") The dryer simply tumbles the clothes in unheated air for 30 seconds every 5 minutes, for a maximum of 256 tumble periods. It can't run more than 24 hrs. 5 mins x 256 = 1280 mins 30 secs x 256 = 7680 seconds 7680 seconds / 60 secs in a min = 128 mins 1280 mins + 128 mins = 1408 mins 1408 mins / 60 mins in an hr = 23.4 hrs

Before you replace the relay, because it is difficult to unsolder and more expensive, try replacing the R45 resistor as I outlined in the post above. I do not think the relay is at fault. I would just use a 2 watt 0.2 Ohm power resistor, and keep it away from the adjacent hot transformer and power transistor (Q1). I'm not sure why someone would layout a PCB with a hot transformer (with no heat sink) next to a power transistor (with no attached heat sink) next to a power resistor. Just make sure that you add some insulation to the resistor leads so they don't make contact with any other electrical component. (Disclaimer: I cannot be held responsible for any equipment failure due to technical misadventure as a result of lack of electrical repair expertise.)

Mary, I had to return my Penguin copy of 'A' to the library so cannot check the pages you mention, nor can I answer Carolyn's question about the times A was in hospital having suffered breakdowns; maybe you can help her out. I would agree with you that the sense of identity and its loss, are probably the strongest themes throughout the book. If one knew nothing about the author if would be easy to suppose he was writing about himself; that he was 'A', but Sebold was born at the end of the conflict at a time when what had happened in Germany was brushed, by them, under the carpet. Despite my parents having several German friends little mention was made of what happened to them (or by them) from '39 - 45'. It was not considered polite to bring the subject up. One friend told them that while living in the Ruhr an area that suffered heavy allied bombing towards the end, her father was in an air-raid shelter and mentioned to another man "Surely we cannot go on much longer." Another German acquaintance lost a husband at the Russian Front and moved to her parent's home in the country. The area had been heavily mined by their own troops and she saw her father and only son blown up when their horse and cart ran over one of the mines. Hi Chris.

I own the same model Aqua Logic control panel. I hope you have not wasted the money on a new circuit board. I found the fix. Mine started doing the same thing last week, 04/25/09. I searched the internet and found this thread. I also found another thread where a guy troubleshot the problem and solved it. I fixed mine for the cost of a soldering iron and solder ($6.90 at Waldomart). Click here:

Look for a post by 'Navyet.' I did what he did. I found a bad solder joint on the back of K1. I resoldered that pin on the back of the board, and the problem was fixed. I replaced the 20 amp fuse with a 10 amp but it blew the fuse within a day. I am going to try a 15 amp fuse to see if that will last.

I was having the "No Cell Power" problem as well. Navyet saved me lots of $$$. His instructions worked like a charm.

WOW! I'd throw a big 'ol party and invite ALL of you just to celebrate this "fix"! Navyet...where do you live so I can buy you a beverage of choice?!

Early Fall of '08...I get this "No Cell Power" error on my Goldline/Aqualogic panel. (If you have read down this far, just "ditto" all of the above.) My warranty had expired just 2 months prior as well.

I had been chlorinating my pool by hand (nasty chlorine pucks), and was trying to figure out how to come up with the $800 my pool service people wanted to "fix and replace" the cell panel. (And for a single mom with two kids...that wasn't going to be an easy fix for me.)

I started thinking...SURELY the Internet must have SOMETHING for me to reference to either fix this issue, or at the very least, purchase the panel at reduced cost. And voila! Here it is!!!

Instructions worked PERFECTLY! (And thank you for the pictures Navyet. They were very helpful!) This "fix" saved me over $800 in repair costs, not to mention a lot of extra summer maintenance. I wish I had found this earlier as I've been stressing on it for MONTHS!

I also have to wonder...how many (not so reputable) service companies know of this issue, "fix" the existing panel and replace, but still charge a full price panel to the customer - who would NEVER KNOW the difference? So, friendly reminder to always ask for your original part when replacing equipment.

You have to remove the dead front cover, you will see one, then you have to pull the black controller straight out to get to the other one. They are just automotive type fuses.
Best to turn power off to the whole panel before you do this.

Got the dreaded "No Power Cell 2" message (yes, it says "2" as well, vice NO Power Cell". Had Pinch a Penny check my under warranty T-CELL-15 - said it passed. Looked at several forums and found this one. Checked my fuses, appear ok - not broken/blown. Wish that was the case however. Notice Amazon sells a PCB board for 350 or so. Before ordering and doing this myself, I noticed a link for navyvet about the circular "fuse" for lack on a better term, specifically the Digi key pn# 570-1062-ND. Will need to take my board off to see if I can find burn marks, then try my hand at soldering (or call a friend). Anyone successful with the soldering, then have issues later on? Don't want to spend money on a new Circuit Board if I can prevent it, but don't really want to repeat the soldering work constantly. Any feedback is appreciated. I'm a newbie at the forum, so if the question has been asked, shoot me the link. Also, anyone else have issues going to www.nopowercell.com? sees down for me. Thank you for your time in advance fellow forum members and DIY repair techs.

Thanks :) it really helped. We got the unit running. Found the burned connection and fixed it. Now I seem to notice I keep needing to reset the day... Also the pool is not coming on on the time set or shutting off. What's causing this ? Anyone know what I should do?

For those of you that don't think it is burned, look again. Mine had a brown discoloration, that's all. Heat the exact same post as described with your soldering iron and some good flux paste. Scrape carefully around the post until copper is exposed and use some more paste. Then heat the post and solder. It's a miracle I'm tellin ya..........

Just fixed my board . Small amount of brown discoloration also ,some flux and solder is all it took. Saved over $500.00 by doing this . Thankyou for the internet.

I am having the exact problem. When I flip the breaker of and on it works, but only then. What was the fix?
