Vera, I think posting a picture is a good idea. Then we can start telling you what we want your kitchen to look like. LOL. Just kidding, but it will give us a good idea of what you want and I bet we can put our minds together and come up with something lovely.

As you can see the kitchen is currently terra cotta rose. It was never supposed to be that rosy.....lol

I'm painting the kitchen pale olive with white trim. I would like to accent with the goldy yellow, & terra cotta that is in the fabric.

I think I'm on rooster overload! LOL I was thinking of the larger rooster pic on the wall where the exhaust fan is. The exhaust fan area will be dry walled since we never use it since we have an exhaust fan on our stove.

I was thinking of the 2 tin roosters on either side of the door going into the living room.

The plates could be hung on the wall above the nook. I only show 2 plates in the pics, but have a 3rd that is the same as the one with the rooster on it.

I really like the 2 veggie pics, but am just feeling overwhelmed at this point & don't think they go with roosters!

I'll be using the fabric that matches the placemat in the pic to make valances with a simple casing for the rod.

Not sure if I should put the shelf back above the picture window, minus all the stuff & just put 3 things up there???

I know the light fixture needs to be smaller or else swagged over the table......DH has to duck to get to the table!

I'm starting all over! I have no pics anywhere in the kitchen. The last few pics of the terra rose w/blue accents is what the kitchen is now.Yes I did have some roosters in there but the tiles were mostly blue. Time for a change & again I'm going with pale olive!

Now I need to know what direction to go.

My mother-in-law is an interior designer and one year for my birthday she found these great kitchen towels with my colors and had them framed. You would have no idea they are towels. I have had more people ask where I got them.

I think, after seeing your kitchen and surround that painting first and then adding art might work better. Do you plan to keep that spongey look on the walls or are you going with a plain paint? It seems you have a lot of roosters. Do you want to keep any, and if so, which ones? There are several different looks/themes/types of roosters in your paintings. I think if you are going to use them, you should group them all on a wall together, like a collection instead of spreading them out. JMHO. I am not real fond of the rosy color but it seems you are not either. I think going with a wheat or a sage green, perhaps even a loden green, would be a good idea. It will be much easier to do art work once you have painted if you intend to paint. If you do not intend to paint, I think I would try to organize all the roosters in one area, so they do not look choppy in arrangement and I would not add anything else to the room. It has quite enough.

Patricia look at it as a BLANK CANVAS! I only know I want to paint it just a plain pale olive with no faux finish. I think that will look really good with my natural maple cabinets.
I can use any of the roosters OR none at all! Rooster overload! LOL I just don't know what art/theme to go with.

I've always had trouble finding art or pictures I love. Lately I've found a really good selection at TJMaxx Homegoods. They not only have framed artwork but cool clocks, signs, dried flowers, and containers that hang on the wall. I've seen the same artwork at internet sites for twice as much as I paid for it at Homegoods.

I think it will look great with your paint color ideas! Paint it and then post some pictures. I think eliminating the faux finish will really simplify the area to a blank slate so you can then add accessories. The table mat fabric will go perfectly.

I've bought a couple things at TJMaxx/Homegoods, including those 2 pics on my link of the veggies. I'll have to make another trip & see if I can find anything else.

Vera, I think that is a FABULOUS color you are choosing and just wait, just wait, wait, we will want so much to help you once you get it painted. I can hardly wait. Yes, a blank canvas in gorgeous green! I can think of a bazillion possibilities like vegetables or birds of paprikas and golds, butterflies or botanical prints, so much you can do. I am excited for you now get painting!!!! I am so looking forward to seeing it. You have a GREAT room to paint and decorate.

I can see it as a blank canvas--the pale olive --which brand--i looked & the colors vary--I love the layout & the WINDOWS are fabulous--to sit there & look out-wow. i like your roosters too. Whatever it will be great --cause the bones are good! Hurry,,,,

Ebay, garage sales, Craigslist, cut up calendars and art books (Michaels has lots of the latter), fabric, wallpaper, wrapping paper, online google "art" or "posters," put a nice frame on your childrens' artwork (you can supply the quality paper for the work and your child will be so proud), or get an art book from the library or buy one and learn to make your own.

Vera - How about crate art? These are the labels for shipping crates of fruits and veggies and other things, most popular from the 1930s to the 60s. They range from brilliant, bold graphics to soft landscape-y designs. Many have shades of green that would compliment your pale olive. In fact, there are beautiful labels for olives, avocados, artichokes, etc. Not at all like botanicals, they are very interesting and have neat stories behind them.

Google "crate art" and many sites will appear. There's a large choice out there!

You know what I did for several smaller (8x10 or less) art pieces? I have found pictures on the internet that I liked, bring them into Photoshop, resize or even adjust color, and printed them on my Epson printer on gloss photo paper.
