I'm bored,bored BORED!

Cruddy weather, NO projects to work on. NO decent yarn in town for the one measly little project I could do. Going to spend an even more boring afternoon at work!

I painted my bathroom green with dk brown towels no pictures yet, I cant find a tiny long one. Also painted my kitchen yellow with dough boy blue, things, in it. Iam sick of painting, Ws some seeds about 20 milk jugs, is all for me right now I have another bathroom and my garden room to paint . The other bath will be light sage green/palm trees now ad frog curtain later, yelow and green towels. The garden room will be baby blue. my garden books ext... Iam sick of winter. O before that painted living room gray new carpet and a palm tree sea shell theme. touch of country blue with oak wood. cabnets. Did I say Iam sick of painting and sick of winter. Mine seedlings inside were always really leggy and sometimes would mildew. Much easier wintersowing! By the way, the Rocky Mountain penstemon self seeds fairly easily and is perennial down to zone 4. I normally collect seed from it in mid-late summer and wintersow again. Penstemon is so easy and pretty and the deer don't like it! I was pretty excited to see the pink fernleaf, too. I almost bought it last year for $150 but it was from a grower that I'd never dealt with before, one where you mail in a check, so I chickened out. I am so glad now! Got all of the peonies I wanted from Adelman's for less than I would've paid for the 1 fernleaf!

LOL! Cathy, it's the flowery part that's purple, but it's really Crayola style purple! The stems are still white and the leaves green. It stays purple when cooked, though the shade is affected by caramelization and such like. They also have a dusty yellow color and a leaf green. The purple is from the same antioxidant that colors red cabbage, and has be bred for prominence. The yellow (officially called "orange") is bred from a Canadian mutant. I'm not sure about the green, but just as there's a cabbagy purple, the green is also cabbagy in color (cauliflower is a cabbage cousin). But it just tastes like cauliflower. I roasted it yesterday along with the chicken, and steamed the purple asparagus (just has an outer purple tinge, like any variegated plant, and, like dragon beans, lost the purple in the cooking, so what a waste! It's not like asparagus or big tough beans make for nice eating raw!). Took them with some red jasmine rice to another one who'd had an out patient procedure. Colorful dinner, plain and nutritious, but my house reeked when we opened the door. I don't know how other people don't smell the sulphur! Thank-you for the kind wishes. She's doing well, but it's going to be a long recovery. John, I've heard of the potato trick but haven't eaten it. The main tricks I discovered were to use a smaller diameter pot than you'd think and use the end of your spoon to poke holes in the rice layer. And really truly use the dish wrapped in the towel. Maybe Modernist Cuisine guys or other food scientists can improve on it, but mammas have been doing it this way for at least a century, so just do what they tell you! Most recipes call for it, and I've been warned to steer clear of those that think they can do without it.

This time of year is bad for that. I don't know how the weather is there, but we had sunshine for two days and today is rainy. It seems like you're either waiting to start a project or get halfway through the middle of one and then can't finish because of the weather. Good luck on finding something interesting to do.

Speaking of yarn!
I went to a Garage Sale yesterday and they had 6 huge rubbermaid plastic containers heaping full of skeins of yarn. Most of them were not even used. They were only asking 10 cents each! I brought home 2 grocery bags full.

Oops! I bet that doesn't cheer you up!

Well take a scenic drive to Larimore and help me tile the shower, and paint all the trim, and rip out carpeting in the basement.

If you're still bored after that, we can start laying out the landscaping for the front yard...and rip out the carpet in the livingroom...and refinish the living room floor...and hang closet doors in the sewing room!

See...you'll be busy and happy and get to play with Harry and Sam!

Grab your gloves...we might haul some big rocks from the fields, too!

Better yet come on up to British Columbia and I'll find lots for you to do -
I am changing jobs in 2 weeks, going from caretaking apartment buildings to working at the head office. Before the new caretaker arrives I have 2&1/2 storage rooms full of crap I have to sort and either store somewhere else or get the goodwill to come and get. Meanwhile I have to paint and clean a unit for her to live in, patch paint another one and clean from top to bottom another one. In another building I have 3 suites that need various things done to them before they are rentable.
I also have to put together some presentable work clothes for office attire, I have been wearing paint splattered clothing so long it will be a shock to wear something that is paint free....
add to that the regular duties associated with my job and my own life, and yep, I could really use your help if you're bored...lol.
No time to be bored in this neck of the woods.
