Vent for tankless water heater under a deck

I want to vent a new tankless water heater under a wooden deck. I have looked at Installation instructions for several manufacturers and cannot find a clear answer. Some say not allowed, other say it depends and others say nothing at all.

The vent would be at least 4' below the deck. The deck is 6' to 9' above ground depending on where I place the vent. The deck is 8' out from the wall that the vent will be on. There is no rectriction to air flow under the deck.

The vent will honor all other normal clearance requirements. The under deck part is all that I need to understand.

It seems like it should be no problem but I seek opinions.
