What are the odds the a spayed kitten didn't actually get spayed?
Comments (9)That's what I thought, but I'm not a cat-person, so I don't have a clue how they usually behave. I have an unhappy housebunny that can't run loose because of the kitten. I have the baby possum that the kitten would do horrific things to, and now (for 2 weeks) my hens in the house at night. (They sleep and are in a box--- but they sit at the gate and wait for me to bring them in --- I might not have mentioned there is some killer stalking our chickens. Whatever it is killed the big rooster, wounded a hen, then came back and killled another hen. I guess the girls are petrified to stay in the pen at night so they jump in my arms to come inside. Must be tough to be low on the foodchain....See MoreMy3Dogs- thought of you when 'stealing' this bouillotte knockoff
Comments (16)Reno, I THINK we may be 'separated at birth'. I first thought that the wallpaper in your secretary might be Thibaut's 'Paysannerie' in red on green. See it at the link below. I have two rolls of that, naturally purchased on eBay for next to nothing. Plus, my upstairs bath is papered in in it in the just plain 'green' colorway. Since you mentioned your lamp shade is too wide, it gives me the opportunity to show you what arrived today. FOUR heavy BEAUTIFULLY made silk shades from eBay. I paid a TOTAL including shipping of $11.24 for them. I've never held a small shade that is so heavy and so well made. I've not been able to find any like them online yet, but I know I got a bargain. They're 7 inches high, 3 inch top, 6 inch bottom. They're begging to go on candlestick lamps...If I don't have any on hand that can 'wear them', I'm certain something will come up... :-) Here is a link that might be useful: Paysannerie wall paper...See MoreMy puppy thinks she's being tortured...(another spay question)
Comments (12)This is just one of those situations where you have to be firm with her, for her own good. When we had both Tallulah and Mysti spayed (different occasions), they came home from the vet and by the next morning were raring to go. We kept them each penned for five full days, and they were only let out on leash. Had a bad experience many years ago with a cat that was spayed and we didn't restrict her ... which taught me that the animal REALLY DOESN'T KNOW BEST. LOL! You can use this for a very special 'bonding' period, if you keep her leashed to you rather than in a crate. Of course, you may need to take some kind of patience-enabling substance to get through the days!...See MoreMy dog attacked my other dog. HELP!
Comments (18)'Why on earth would you allow a breed like that in your home is beyond me. Keep the pit mix and expect more of the same incidents in the future.' Why would you question what type dog a person has if they are a responsible owner, as sarah appears to be. She has realized that there is a problem and working to resolve it. This dominance/jealousy problem could have risen with any breed dog, not only a Pitt. I have been around/worked with dogs all my life; the three times I was bitten was by a Cocker, a Jack Russell and a Sheltie. Pitts are not the top bitters, but as larger dogs they do more damage when they bite. A lot of smaller dog bites are also not reported making their bite statistics lower on the list. I've seen Pitts who were wonderful "people/kid dogs", who were wonderful pets and great with other pets and I've seen Pitts who were wonderful pets but couldn't be trusted around other pets, same as can be found in any breed. I can't say I would never have a Pit because I've had too many rescues to say never but I probably wouldn't go out and intentionally get a Pit due to not knowing bloodlines or how the animal had been raised. At one time there was a guy here in Florida who bred Pitts just for fighting. He took the worst of the worst and bred them over and over. If you got a dog from his bloodlines in error, you could very well have a problem because this IDIOT had bred them to be vicious. I've seen people who want their Pitts to be bad and train/abuse them to be so. Sadly, in cases like these the dogs are the ones who suffer. Personally I think that people of this ilk, people who fight dogs and people such as this breeder need to be put into a cage and forced to fight in the same manner which the dogs are forced to do. Animal abuse laws aren't strict enough in my opinion. People who abuse animals have no respect for any kind of life as far as I am concerned. Bless you sarah for fostering....See MoreMeghane
