My BT LR:

I couldn't live w/o a BT room I love it so much. After I painted the walls I swore up and down that it looked a weird 'poopey' brown and thought I made a mistake. Once I loaded the furniture back in though and hung the curtains the green really came out. Now I have Olive green toile curtains just a tad darker than the walls hanging up.

Thank you so much for sharing your pictures...and so quickly! I love that color and it looks very similar to what I am using...I was having the same reaction to the paint but was hoping after I get my furniture in that will change. Your room is beautiful...I love all of your pictures. Thanks again for the inspiration!!

i have BT in a south facing smallish room and it looks more sage than olive. i wish it looks like ttodd's. it's also lighter than i expected, prob because of the south facing window.

Peyton....what's the color in the other room beyond BM Baby Turtle? It's pretty too.

Your pics of BT look much different than ttodds. Yours (at least the last pic) look like the way SW Grassland turned out in my library.

I'd have to say that of all the pics that I posted the only one that is reading off in the pic is the close up one of the desk where the color appears to be more like the pics of PeytonRoads.

It's all in the light that your rm. will get and what colors you pair it w/. My rm. only has 1 window that gets the full mid morning early afternoon sun. The other big window overlooks a covered front porch so the rm. is never really 'flooded' w/ bright natural light. I have a lot of natural warm wood tones in my rm. including the heavy trim. My sofa is olive and my chairs dark leather. There isn't much bright white in my rm. other than the photo mats and lamp shades. While my rm. is never 'dark' it is always cozy. The one place that I always want to be when it is a dark, gloomy, rainy sort of day is in this rm. as I feel wrapped in it's warmth.

My rm. is decorated more warm and dark as opposed to decorated bright and crisp and I think that really sets the tone for the color. For instance I bet if you took away PeytonRoads bright white trim and replaced it w/ a rich ivory or cream color the BT would totally change appearance.

Actually my trim is BM acadia white which is yellowish/ivory. (IT is not painted yet in the green eating area but is in the kitchen,doesn't show it really) I love it. My kitchen interior is the BM Brunswick Beige. I am nervous on the color of the BB with my cabinets!! I plan on doing a dark kitchen table in the BT area.(eating area)

PR - in the pic posted above is the trim painted the Acadia White? The trim that I have elsewhere in the house is SW White Hyacinth which is still darker than the Acadia White. In fact it looks downright yellow when held up to white. I'm so glad that I didn't hold the color up to anything until after I'd painted otherwise I would never have painted my trim that color. It looks so dark when held up against white.

I mean in your pics above when I look at just the walls and not the trim the BT looks just like my walls. Then when my eyes go further out to the trim and take it all in as a whole your BT seems to look less muddied than mine.

In my house the Baby Turtle looks like PeytonRoads. My rooms are pretty light with a slightly yellowed white trim.

in my house it looks like the left front small wall shown in peytonroad's 1st pic. as mentioned, it was a small south facing room. it has orangy oak trims.
