Can I use the same paint color in 2 rooms?

Hi. I have a center hall colonial with 8 foot ceilings. I have just put in a massive amount of mouldings. I will be painting the trim cloud white. I broke through the wall between my living room and family room. There is a siginificant trimmed archway seperating the rooms. I had originally picked dark colors for the rooms but I am really liking how light and airy the rooms look with primer. I have a hundred samples on my walls but the only color I really like is lenox tan. Can it be used in both rooms? One of the benefits for not having a new construction/open floor plan is that I can use more than one color in my home. However, is it wrong to use the same color if the rooms open to each other? I know I can do what I want but I'm wondering if I should just go the easier route and pick the same color or risk putting up a color that I don't like as much?
