Absolutely! Go with what you like. I've recently painted every room in my downstairs the same color and it's by no means a 'light' color.

I sure hope so. I painted the kitchen, family room, downstairs little entryway, upstairs hallway and (gasp) the master bedroom all the same color blue. :)

It just really went with the color of the wood trim all over the house. If I ever get around to taking down the wallpaper in the DR and LR that came with the house I will probably paint those rooms the same color.

I am also thinking of painting my kitchen table that color.

Funny thing is, I dont even consider myself a blue person.

Thanks. I just didn't want my house to look lopsided. I was originally thinking of painting Tyler Taupe in the living room leading into Lenox Tan but the Tyler Taupe is definitely more golden than I expected.

Go for it! It will look great! We loved the SW Hint Blue we put in our guest room so much, we painted our master in the same color. Although the rooms are side by side, the lighting is very different and it doesn't even look like the same color.

Good Gracious yes!! By all means, use the Lenox Tan and let it go on into the next room. It will lead the eye and make your rooms appear more spacious. Just because your rooms break off from each other is no reason to have to pick a bunch of different colors. If I ever go to one really light, soft color, I'm going to do most everything in one.

And Jeanine..........your rooms are like the pages in my favorite magazines.......simple and elegant. I too, wish to know your changeable wall color!

I used to have strong colors that "went" with their adjacent room, but it was a real hodge-podge and hard to make changes.

I am now in the process of painting the living room, dining room and hallway a single color (gold). Only the kitchen is a different color (terra cotta ish). I know this is going to look a whole lot more cohesive and connected when I am done.

And easy to shop for. Any accessory will be able to go in any room.

jeanninepc99, I LOVE your rooms!!!! You have to show us more of your home! But, girl, you NEED a focal point on that dining table. Something that screams YOU!

I think the dining room table is great as-is. The mirrors and the chandelier are very strong. Even the furniture is strong for the space (in a good way). I think a screaming focal point would be too much. For "company", I might ditch the placemats (until dinner is served) and have a small shallow dish in the center.

I think most people here have homes where they paint almost all of the rooms the same. Sometimes I think I am the exception. That's just me..I get bored of the same color throughout and also I find I love too many colors to just pick one. But I do agree, it gives a better sense of flow to have same colors.

I have at least 10 different colors in my house but the dining room, living room and kitchen all have the same wall and ceiling colors. It just felt right to me.
I say go for it! The rooms will not look identical just because the paint color is the same!

And to the OP, you know what Gretchen Schauffler does (the founder of 'Devine paints')? She paints connected planes the same color, and then other planes that link to other rooms/hallways in a complementary color. It's really cool, actually--she 'designed' this house paint design for the PO, and even though we changed the colors significantly, we kept the arrangement--it provides continuity through a house and allows for change/dynamism as well. Just another thought about how to organize colors.

HEAVENS NO! This is the decorating forum, where EVERY room MUST be painted and decorated differently. And while we're at it...every available surface must be decorated.... from the toilet lid to the top of the fridge.

The paint color is Benjamin Moore's Smoke. I use Aura paint, which is full spectrum. I think colors look great with full spectrum paint. :)

The dining room is more of a nook in an open condo. The left side is where the front door and coat closet are. The right side is where you enter the kitchen (there is a bar there, too). Most of my neighbors have a tiny table and two chairs in the space, but one uses it for a desk...it's really a pass through.

The chairs were custom made. They were an insane splurge about three years ago, before those chairs were everywhere. My options were a Ballard Designs chair that I didn't feel comfortable buying sight unseen, and similar chairs by Bernhardt, Z Gallerie, and Baker. I had a picture of the fabric I wanted in my head (cream, geometric stitching with a slight sheen), so I wound up having the chairs made. It wasn't any more expensive than the Bernhardt chairs would have been.

Ummm...hate to burst the bubble, but Aura isn't full-spectrum. It is great paint, with better colorants and an incredible finish. But, it is not full spectrum.

When we built I couldn't decide what color to use in some rooms, so I used what I think is BM Chardonnay. A decorator friend told me she liked how the foyer and dining room colors work together. It is EXACTLY the same color! The foyer has much less light, and a light colored rug. The dining room has a burgundy rug and lots of windows.

Sure! Repetition helps with "flow".
