Today I am 47.....and Look and Feel 67.....

Today I turn 47.I look really 67 and feel it.I am not joking.Bones always hurt,and so many wrinkles.I need alot of work on this body.Greg got me a 100.00 gift card to my favorite store,Ross and Ashley got me new cushions for my new out door patio furniture.I found this very nice matching table and chairs at the local thrift store.It was in excellent condition.Got it for 129.00.The chairs are tall,and they turn.They really look nice.So ashley got me some nice thick cushions for them.Everyone told me I got a good deal because they reg cost 350.00 in the stores.I am going to search and see if I can found them online.All I need is a new unbrella.I am using a older unbrella till I find one that matches.Ashley took me out to eat yesterday and fishing.Greg and I going out to eat tomorrow nite.

Laurie, thanks. We lived in Long Beach, MS. Our neighborhood and those around it, were pretty much wiped out. Practically all of my neighbors moved away (as in out of state), and I miss them. We stayed on the Coast, but moved much further inland, to Pass Christian. We didn't plan on building so soon, but the complex where we were renting turned pretty dangerous and it was costing us $1200/month ($1500 the first year!) so we decided we might as well put money in our own home, rather than someone else's. Plus, safety was a big issue. I don't know about you, but even though we lost everything, we apparently fell through the cracks with FEMA, so didn't have much choice but to do it ourselves. Your mother and sister are in a good area. Lots of new developments happening north of Gulfport. We put our Long Beach lot up for sale, but not much interest. As you probably know, the insurance issue is a big deterrent. Long Beach took a big hit from Katrina, and seems to be having a much slower recovery than its neighboring towns. But, on a brighter note - I do love our zone for planting! You're so right - we can have something blooming all year and just about anything you put in the ground lives! I've already walked outside to check on my flowers (like they're going to look different from yesterday - ha!) How do you like Tupelo? I haven't been there in many years, but I understand there's a lot to do. I know you ache for New Orleans. We lived there for 9 years and loved every minute of it. We got the same amount of rain y'all did over a 2-day period and I think the plants look a tiny bit happier this morning. Our morning low temp was 75 but it hit 73 at Burneyville just a bit NW of us. It felt nice. By the time I came inside around 9:30 it was only 85 degrees so it is warming up more slowly too. Last year we had a brief 2 or 3 day respite from the drought about this same time and it was great. After that, unfortunately, we had about 3 or 4 more weeks of awful drought, and then the September rains arrived and put a halt to the extreme heat and dryness. I'm hoping we'll cool down and get rain earlier this year than last. Dawn

I'm so sorry, both for your tragic & heartbreaking loss & for your despair. You're laboring under a crushing amount of grief, pain, depression, &, although it's unearned, guilt. You're absolutely entitled to your despair, anybody would be in despair... but don't let it kill you. You are not only the mother of 4 living children, you're the link between them & their brother, & you're the only one alive who has the memories that you have; without you, those most intimate memories of your son would be gone forever. Please call your doctor & insist on some good anti-depressants (get your husband to help if you can't summon the strength to insist); depression is a physical problem, &, while talking therapy can give you insight, *it won't make you feel better*. The synapses in our brains don't fire right when we're depressed, & that makes us feel worse, & that makes the synapses get more off-kilter... It's like a car engine that's "missing"; you can tinker with all kinds of things in that engine, but you have to get it to fire correctly to fix the "miss". It takes a while for anti-depressents to work, so meanwhile, & I know it's hard because you don't feel like doing it, get some oxygen to your brain. Enlist your husband's help if you can't force yourself to do it on your own, sign up for a jazzercise class, do whatever it takes, but move move move. Get your heart rate up & you'll get good oxygenated blood to your brain, which will make your synapses fire more efficiently & you'll function better. Please take care of yourself, & enlist the help of anybody you can, husband, friends, family, people from church, anybody & everybody, to help you do it. & please post here again. We all want you to be your own self again, & we wanna know about it.

Trebruchet- Thanks for looking at this. I took a look with the guys here. There is no filler. I was assured that it shouldn't be a problem? The pantry wall is angled, so I don't think it should impeded the door opening. I played around with a 3 inch casing and it was ok. Thank you! The restoration company is installing them. I wish the cabinet company was, but I don't know if that would be any better. I was going to pay them today. What do you think?? They still have a lot of work to be done through insurance, and they won't get that $ until everything is satisfactory. lov_kitchen-yes, it opens. The wrong part in the pic is the bottom part of the cab panel is not level. It's 2 and 3/8 on the left, and 2 and 5/8 on the right. jaukuvall-it's KC. According to the carpenter guy installing them, he's noticed a big decline in quality over the past 5 years. I wish I would have gone with something else, but at this point they are just going to have to keep remaking until everything is fine.

It sounds like you have far more than 47+67 years of love surrounding you! I feel as if I "know you" from the years you've been on the KT...and I know you're a beautiful woman.

As for the aching bones, could it be the weather, or is it arthritis, or have you been working too hard? My aunt has had very good results treating her arthritis with aloe vera juice. I think she drinks 6-8 ounces, mixed in water, daily. I'm going to start using it myself.

There are no words to tell you all how special you are to me.You are the best friends anyone could have.I really mean this.Even though we have not met in person,I still love you all alot.You all made my day for all the words you said.Tonite Ashley brought in me a big b'day cake and a bundle of Tulips[not sure how to spell this flower ]but maybe you can make out what I am trying to say.They were yellow and Pink ones.So pretty.I am so so blessed to have such sweet family and friends.My sister called and sent me a card.My brother[I have only one] called and I nearly started crying.Its been nearly a year since I heard from him.I have not seen him in a long time.Since my mom died everyone went their separate ways.So sad too.But Curt and I had a very good talk.At the end both sis and brother said I love you.I am crying now as I type.Thanks everyone.Hugs Judy
