Granted the computer monitor changes the colors, but the Bianco Romano has a pinkish hue on my screen. Perhaps the gray backsplash is too cool for the Romano or too busy. I assume you want the Romano to be the star of the show. I think you should keep looking.

The gray in the tile doesn't bother me as much as the white. The BR in your photos does look pinkish, and I'm not sure if that's accurate. However, all the BR I've ever seen has a warmer background than would go with white. Can you find something softer?

It may be the coloring... it has more gray and hints of garnet. Here's our slab. I'm not in love with the gray, but DH does like it. I'll keep looking we still have time before the backsplash goes in. If anyone has any pictures of some better choices, I'd appreacite it.

Ni_2006 used a crackle glaze Rixi tile with her Bianco Romano and similarly colored cabinets and it seemed perfect. Completed pictures and other kitchens with light stone counters in the thread shown below. She tells what the tile is and what color. Yes I've seen her post before and love it. I originaled had planned 2x8 subway and then came across the 1x2 mini subway. I thought it needed a bit of color, but maybe simplicity is the best here.

I loved a couple of things that I did not get because they had too much gray. One was a fossil travertine - many shapes. I much prefer the smooth to tumbled. Here's a picture of one style, but the picture doesn't show the beauty of the stone and with the larger size you see more fossils

You also might want to look at a couple of other stones. One is bella luna travertine - again in all shapes and sizes, including subway. Another I really liked that I thought was too gray had oyster in the name. I'm not sure if it was travertine or some other stone. My personal preference is larger rather than smaller.

doraville - thanks for the link. That's a really nice backsplash as well, but maybe going too gray. I'll do a search on the others.

I only showed you as an option for the 'white' part of any you put up, or instead of the all white you said was another option you're considering. You could mix in some grays, or other colors, with something like Ni 2006 used?

Have you seen the thread from starfish about finding a backsplash to warm up her kitchen? Had lots of good pictures and links to backsplash ideas that go with a bianco romano type granite. (How do I post a link to another thread?)

Also, you may want to hold off on backsplash selection until after your granite is in (or take your backsplash samples to a showroom where they have a large bianco romano counter on display). I have giallo ornamental, and was looking at lots of tiles that had some variation in them (thinking they would look great pulling together some of the colors in the granite - I was using a 6 x 6 piece of granite). Once my full counters went in, I quickly realized that they are pretty busy on their own, so a backsplash with a lot of variation in color would compete. Also, I realized how shiny the granite is with the undercabinet lights, so decided against a couple of glass tiles that were frontrunners before counters were installed.

If you're stuck looking for a bianco romano sample, all the Lowes around me have their Sensa granite bianco leblon (looks a lot like bianco romano) in at least one of their display kitchens, so you can see it on a bigger surface.

I don't like the white at all....it's just way to stark to go with your granite. The gray mix you posted is really quite busy too. Maybe a mix that has much less contrast or a very light gray subway tile would work?
