Dang stupid weather.....................grrrr...

Guess it was my fault for I finally made plans ahead of time...to go to the city wide garage sale today with a friend and it rained all night today is cold.......cold..and rainy right now.....wind chill like 22 and chance of snow.....so didn't brave the cold to garage sale if they even still had it....LOL that is what I get for "making plans"!! Oh well we are going to go shopping in St Joe then and out to eat lunch...Have a great one...Stacy

Awww, I hate it when that happens. It's supposed to be nice and sunny here in Texas this weekend. The high tomorrow is supposed to be upper 60's. DH said it wasn't warm enough to stain the deck but I did some Googling and found a site that said you could stain in temps 50 to 90 degrees, so I informed him last night.

Got up, put swimsuit on, ready to head to water.
Something said "check your email"

And there it was: Pool closed

They decided to take the bubble down, earlier, due to incoming bad weather.

Went back to bed for a while.

Edging out of dormancy with warm days and low 20's just before dawn- Light skiffs of snow a couple of days in the past week, which is great. We need the moisture. Buds are swelling everywhere, but only the pears are trying to bloom. The plum and apricot must be a week or two off, and the apple is just barely not dormant. Crocuses and japanese iris are still blooming, lilacs are not there, and garlic is barely peaking through. Red wing blackbirds are nesting, robins are back, and osprey are reclaiming territory. Geese and ducks are on the nest, and the students are driving too fast. It must be spring! :-)M

You know what needs to be done, cut it down now. I assume that this in a unmaintable/unmaintained 2 foot stretch behind the garage and your fence, that nobody goes into. I assume that this tree is a weed without question. This is probably in the buffer zone between the property, the "easement" they sometimes call it, you have the right to complain. And if they complained about your taking things into your own hands, you would reply that they were obviously ignoring their responsibility. I suppose if they really wanted to be jerks they could bring up into question where the actual property line is and where you fence is, but why would they really go to much trouble. I had some relatives who owned some small apartment buildings and it was never really a rational process, they didn't take pay attention or care much... if the weeds or trees were growing out of control, it was the "other" property owners responsibility. Both sides said it was the other guys problem, not theirs. But if one owner or a tenant cut down/radically trimmed an out if control tree it was suddenly "they cut down my tree, how dare they, they had no right". So don't always assume that owners will be rational.

Stupid fake flower glued onto cactus

I bought a very large Peruvian cactus with the long hairy looking sides some people call them old man or old man with a beard....any way this company owes me a cactus it had about a half a tube of hot glue and when I tried to carefully take it off it was pulling to much of the fine "hair" so I had to cut it off thus leaving it with a hole and cause a rot. I am not happy with those flowers and if they get wet they stain some of the cacti...but back to my old man he is rotting and I am afraid it is not going to scab over I had him in the half sun for drying purposes but he's afraid to far gone. so the big box store without a stupid receipt will not accept it back it does not look like a cactus now. OK this company and I will be glad to tell who but only privately they owe me a 19.99 old man cactus. Everyone be careful and do take them off if hey get wet they will stain some cactus truly and it is a dye and I do not think its good for the cactus.

Wow - We got a surprise when we called the doctor to have a prescription sent to get the back up inhaler.... (SD lives in NC and we live in VA). We were going to have it sent to CVS and use our insurance to pay.... BUT!!!! Doctor tells us - SD was being weaned off of the daily asthma inhaler. That it was prescribed at BM's request as precaution for what she said were daily asthma attacks and wheezing each morning..... (which we have never seen or experienced when she is with us at any time) At any rate as of November SD is to no longer be using the Asthmanex and will be re-assessed in a year. Doc says he was asking SD if she had ever had wheezing or tightness in the chest - and she stated no. Mommi just gives her the meds every morning and night - and told her it makes sure she sleeps well and wakes up good. ?!?!?! What the hell ?!?!?!?!? Of course DH did not tell BM this when he called her back after speaking to the doctor. He simply asked BM about making sure all medications SD has been prescribed come for the Thanksgiving visit. (she has a couple allergy things she takes - allegra and nasonex for kids.... BM swears every sniffle or itch is due to a severe allergy that could kill SD if she does not take meds to prevent.) BM's response is that she just took SD to the doctor and she could not get the asthma medication because it was to expensive and she has to wait until the doctor changes the type so she can afford it. But that will not happen until the Monday after Thanksgiving. (Which i think is a lie just so DH will not say anything as to why the medication will not come again this weekend visit)................ I am upset as I don't feel SD should have been put on this med unless she had a documented asthma attack with the doctor or emergency room. My daughter (14) has asthma and uses albuterol or the rescue inhaler - as it only usually bothers her in the winter time. I would not want any child inhaling medication into their lungs on a daily basis that is not necessary... these meds all have side affects. BUT the lie about the situation is what is most disturbing. BM is still trying to medicate SD when it is not necessary.... I think she does it for attention. DH has a call into SD's doctor again to see if there are tests for children that can diagnose asthma - at the age of 6. So we can make sure if the meds are actually needed or not. Before going forward with confronting BM on over medicating SD again.

Aww it is okay I have a full list now to do in St. Joe and several books to lookfor supposed to be ugly here all weekend but we are going home next weekend and it is going to be beautiful in Ok!! Yeah....Stacy

It's crappy here too. 36Â° at 11:45. And windy. Next Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday is to be in the 70's I've got a couple movies from Netflix. I think I'll pop some corn, cover up with the quilt Gillian sent me in the swap, and watch them.

We woke up to over a foot of snow of the ground and its still snowing. I keep bawling.......IT'S APRIL!!! I live in No. Minnesota. Grrrrrr. Dottie

Oh Dottie! I have been hearing all about your plight down here in SE Minnesota. I feel for you. I've been feeling sorry for myself today with the weather here 37 degrees and rain and snow mixed. I think it's seeped into my bones and I feel all achy and tired. Does the weather do that to anyone else?

Thanks, Bigbaby, I shouldn't feel sorry for myself. It seems like those of you in so. Minnesota, have been hit by bad weather more than us, up north. Yes, the weather bothers me, I get angry and depressed. I keep telling myself in a week we'll forget about the snow this morning and before we know it we'll be crabbing about the heat and humidity in July. LOL Dottie

Well it's been Beautiful and Warm here in S.Calif today,didn't even need a sweater.So i went and got my haircut,stopped at the thrift shop and then at Rite Aid for some ice cream.

They say it may be in the 80's tomorrow,but since i'm along the coast,that means 70's for us,which is fine with me.

It was in the mid 80's here today and will be in the 90's for about four days. A little too warm for me when it is in the 90's 'cause we have no airconditioning.

Oh my, in the mid 50s today with gale force winds off and on making it feel like the 40s. Will be in 40s for the next couple of days with 3 nights of freezing temps. Am in So. Mo.

Dang stupid weather.....................grrrr...
