I've had these two pair of jammies, that I've had since before I moved to the farm, seven years ago.
The elastics in the waistbands have got to be a bit long in the tooth, one might say - which results in slipping, a bit.
While cruising the house, after get-up one morning, several months ago, I found that, when I grabbed the pants of one set, to pull 'em up before they tripped me ... tore a hole, just by the right hip.
So I've taken to using one of the after-built elastic girdles, that I can move efficiently from one pair to t'other.
Despite the girdle, I found that the other pants were slipping, this morning, and wondered what the heck was wrong.
It seems that the elastic wasn't placed properly: too high, and was making a somewhat valiant, if unsuccessful, effort at holding in the gut.
As the bank robbers say, "Sometimes a bit of repositioning can produce a better hold-up".
