finally cut a deal on the pebble tec

We were looking at wet edge and pebble tec. both were very nice but pebble actually came up cheaper! now that makes this decision a no brainer. We are going with pebbletec midnight blue with shimmering sea added in. Anybody have pics or suggestions?

Here's some pic's of a Midnight Blue PebbleTec pool with Oklahoma Flagstone coping and decking.

This wasn't a great time of the afternoon for photo's, I'll look to see if I have more.

Thanks Kelly, Your pool looks awesome! Did you put shimmering sea in it? Also, is the pebble rough? We like the look of the larger pebble in pebble tec more than pebble sheen. I think it is well worth having to wear aqua-socks for pool sports.

Unless the eyeball fittings are the glue on type on the inside of the pipe. That would be the only way to correct that, I'm not sure if those type have a 1" size. I use Kerber Brothers for my pebble. I do not use the pebble tech brand. I know other people and builders will disagree with me, but the pebbletech brand pebbles are no different than any other pebble. There are only so many stones in the colors that all the brands use, they all don't come from different rivers, quarries whatever. I can get any pebbletech color that I want with the exception of a couple that pebbletech has the rights to until there trademark on that pebble goes out. It's kind of like a Ford Ranger and a Mazda truck.Same truck just different branding. The Pebbletech installers are all franchise, which mean they can buy and sell their franchise as they please. I put more trust in an installer that has been doing it for 20+ years who have employees that have been working for them for 30+ years than I do the latest pebbletech franchisee. I think Gardener has had the pebbletech name for a while, but I've seen problems with their installers for the last couple of years.

We are a few weeks away from our pebbletec finish and as many, it is a difficult decision. We have a lagoon style 20' x 40' with a raised spa and waterfall. We chose a gold tumbled marble coping and deck...it's actually multi colored tan,gold some light brown and we chose a small 5/8" tumbled marble tile that has all the shades of the coping/deck. My wife seems to be leaning toward Black Pearl, as she thinks the contrast would look great... but I am more in favor of either midnight blue or tahoe blue - not a "black hole", as I think that with a lagoon pool the darker colors suit it. Now someone also suggested emerald??? I have seen on this board alot of tahoe blue, but not much of the other darker colors. Has anyone seen many midnight blue, or emerald pools? Decisions...decisions

Update: Holes in the spa are looking much better. Service guy came out today and worked on them again. I think the end result when finished will be great. My concern would be will the fix chip off later since it is not the original finish. Steps are so much better. First, because I started buffing them MYSELF today with the buffing pad they left my husband the first day my pool was supposed to be "buffed" as advertised. Anyway, the installer came out today and started "buffing" them more...they needed it. There is a huge difference between a buffed area and a non-buffed area in your pool even if the installer of PT tries to tell you it is smooth enough. The steps are a slightly different color because they were redone. The only thing that I am not sure how to fix is the deep end....the finish there looked amazing the first time. After they drained the pool to redo the steps, and the pool is now filled up and balanced, the deep end looks splotchy. I repeatedly raised concerns about them leaving crappy, non-chemically balanced, stagnant water sitting in the deep end and in the spa in the hot sun for 2 days while they worked to correct the steps. I was told not to worry...well now I am very worried. We were told today to let the pool cure....I don't buy that BS....the deep end looked perfect after the initial fill and through 3 days of meticulously brushing and keeping the chems balanced. They let the spa sit stagnant and partially drained my pool. All kinds of crap was sitting in that nasty water.

Hey Everyone Reading this!, Three years ago I had a new pool installed, I was going to get plaster, but the contractor told me about Pebble Tec the cost high, but it made since to not have to plaster very 3 years? Right? Wrong Since day one their have been problems with our finish. Big pieces started falling out of the spa, they patch it. Then we stared having peoples over, Oh My God, Knees, feet,arms even the bathing suits got messed up! First month there were some round dark spots on the bottom. We called our contractor, they went belly up! So we called the people who did the finish, (thank god i filled out the warranty with Pebble Tec Company) it took a long time before they came and did any thing. They came out finely and looks over the pool and felted noting was wrong, i told them to get inside the pool, and feel the finish. It had became like rock sand paper we could not even used it. TODATE I STILL AM HAVING ISSUES WITH THE FINISH. NOW IT IS COMING OFF, AND LEAVING BIG HOLES AROUND THE POOL.

I built this unit a few years ago and just stumbled on a folder of pool pic's from back then. I don't think it had the mother of pearl mixed in it.
I really had forgotten about this unit until I saw it about 8 pools into the folder. The pic's don't really show the attributes of the pool. Multi leveled with for/aft beam placement with hand cut stacked stone, fountains and descents gave a great pool look. But the deck was to die for, 3 men spent 3 days at the shop cutting squares and rectangles of random sizes to come in and lay over the entire concrete decking and the covered back porch with a plasma TV, surround sound, and a fireplace.
The owner is a custom home builder in The Woodlands I interact with.
I also have pebble in my pool and my daughters have always worn water shoes, the boys and I don't have a problem with it.
When you purchase a Pebble Technologies product buy the Tec for the look and the Sheen for the feel, stay away from the Fina.
I'll look for some more Midnight Blue pic's when I get a chance.
