Sewer Backup Insurance: Cover Sump?

My local State Farm agent insists that if I buy their sewer backup option I will be covered if we have an electrical outage and our basement sump pump cannot function. (The max coverage is $10K under that option and costs about $250 per year.)

This does NOT sound kosher to me. I read "sewer backup" to mean sewage, not groundwater.

What I want is some insurance that should the sump be unable to function, causing the basement to flood, that my two furnaces, air cleaners, water heaters, etc. will be covered.

Background: Our 2000 sq ft unfinished basement has a sump and an ejector pump, side by side. When the sump pump failed last month, the overflow from that pit went into the ejector pit and was pumped out.
