How did you choose range size?

Posting here rather than Appliances because it is a size question (kitchen) not a brand question (Appliances)

For me it is a moot point because my range has been installed for nearly a year.

How did you choose -- 30. 36.48, 60 or something else if it is a french range or a small apartment range?

I chose the brand first -- Blue Star and then the size -- 30.

Have room for a 36 or even a 48. Chose the 30 because: never use more than 2-3 burners, this size worked well with our gumwood-- the existing doors just fit leaving space for a 30 inch. Some rework required but it would have been a lot more if I had gone with a 36. I liked the symmetrical layout of the 5 knobs and the design of the center grate. Not interested in grill or griddle. And it was a bit of reverse snobbism, not wanting a designer looking kitchen, but rather something that looked like it might have been here in the twenties. In truth though, as I look at it now the 36 might have been more proportional to the long 12 foot run.

So I'm just curious. How did you decide.
