All I could eat with my first Nicole was ice--crushed,broken up,in chunks,whatever,but that was all I wanted.
The "good" thing is that I only gained a total of 15 pounds the whole term!
With the second,I was normal,no cravings whatsoever.

I couldn't eat peanut butter when I was pregnant.

The only food item I craved was Spaghettios. I know, I know...wierd!! And I dont eat them normally so I have no idea where that craving came from.

But I couldn't get enough ice, crushed ice. I was craving it really bad, especially towards the end. I have no idea why but it was like a drug to me. I was addicted.

I couldn't stand eggs in any form until I got pregnant with my son. Then all I wanted was eggs, 3 times a day I ate eggs and still like them to this day.

With my daughter I didn't have any cravings at all.

I craved a fish sandwich from a certain restaurant. Had to have one every morning for breakfast and was angry that they didn't open early enough. Drank nearly a gallon of milk a day. Love spinach but couldn't eat it while pregnant.

I got really lucky with this one! No morning sickness, but I now know what heartburn feels like. It's not in my chest, but in my throat.

No food adversions, or cravings, but I still love ice cream! I do know that certain foods make my heartburn worse, so I avoid them. I have, however, wanted to have coca cola as of late, but I don't because of the caffine.

I had more food aversions, then cravings. Some meats esp pork chops-EW. The thought of broccoli made me sick for months, I'm just now being able to eat it again. Hate that, since it's so good for you!

I had to be really careful in the morning to go VERY slowly around the kitchen, since almost anything would make me gag routinely! Even things I liked! I've always heard you crave what your body needs (protein, carbs etc.)?? My stomach has been "off" for most of this pregnancy, so more bland carbs! I'm hoping that goes back to normal soon!

Milk and peanut butter were my favorites!! But I like them anyway.

With DD I could absolutely not eat dill pickles, chocolate, and boneless chicken. It had to be chicken with the skin and bones. I hate KFC, yet I craved it all the time. That and whoppers with cheese LOL.

Also, any fish or seafood. I could not eat it, smell it, see it, or hear about it ROFL! It took maybe about five years after she was born before I could stand to eat fish and pickles again.

nicole, I had no food aversions during my pregnancies, which probably explained why I gained 35 pounds with each, lol. But like you, I did crave oranges, which I never usually ate much. When I mentioned it to my mother, she told me she craved oranges during her pregnancies also.

With my first daughter, I could not stand the sight or the thought of red meat.

With my second daughter, it was chicken.

With the boys, I absolutely hated cheese and chocolate. The smell of coffee and bacon was repulsive. It didn't even smell the same. At the same time, I couldn't get enough watermelon and tomatoes. I went on a Chinese food binge one week where I wanted the same meal every day.

With dd, I craved candy like smarties and salsa.

I could not stand the smell of coffee when pregnant and finally quit making it for DH. He bought it on the way to the train station. Also lost interest in meat, though I ate it. Was hungry for fruits and vegetables. DD had the same reactions.

With this pregnancy I can't seem to find anything that really sounds good to me to eat. I am only 2 months along and my appetite isn't what it used to be. With the other 3 I had different cravings and could never have pizza hut pizza, subway or most fast food. I do crave fresh fruits and veggies and can't wait until my garden gets going so I can have all I want out of the garden.

Why did I open this thread? After reading how Stepmc wanted spaghettios, I'm now wanting Chef Boyardee Beefaroni!! And if I'm pregnant, I will make a lot more money than the pregnant 'man'!!!!!

When I was pregnant, I had a craving for raw carrots. (Possible Vitamin A deficiency?) And I couldn't stand even the smell of Cinese food, something I usually like. Shortly after my first child was born, I saw someone eating Chinese food for lunch and became nauseated. I went home that day and told my husband I was pregmant again.

Before I got pregnant for the third time I loved raw milk. We had a certified dairy near us, and when I got pregnant I figured "drinking milk for the baby" would be my perfect excuse to drink raw milk whenever I wanted. But in my second or third month I lost my taste for it completely.

When I had the flu last month I was surprised at how drastically my taste changed for those three weeks. Couldn't stand yogurt or chicken, two things I usually eat all the time. When I could finally think about eating at all, I craved steak and spaghetti, but not at the same time. :-)

No longer enjoyed cheese or milk. Loved fresh pineapple! Wretched any time I smelled candle wax. I had to race past the candle section in the grocery aisle!

I don't drink milk ever. So my cravings were ice cream related. With DD I couldn't get enough strawberry sodas. The old fashioned kind with ice cream and syrup and soda water.A lot of places still made them in the 70's. It was practically a daily thing with me.

Didn't have any special cravings with DS. I just had a healthy appetite with both . Just a little morning sickness.

Food! LOL I gained 50 pounds with my first one in 1961.Don't remember any certain ones with the second and third.I craved lemons with my last son who is now 30.I would peel them like an orange and eat the sections.It's a wonder I had any enamel left on my teeth!
I have heard that craving ice is because of some vitamin deficiency.I want to say iron but I'm not sure.

Never had any kind of nausea, and no aversions to any food. I did eat a lot of fruit tho, because I was pregnant during the summer...one of the hottest in many years. I especially ate lots and lots of cherries and grapes. I only gained 25 lb. and lost all but 7 lb. by the time I came home from the hospital...but I was there for 5 days, following a c section.

Drat that morning sickness! Blech!

I easily ate eggs all my life growing up, scrambled, over easy, omelettes, hard boiled etc. Became pregnant with number #1, and one of the few things I could eat was eggs. Craved them. After he was born, I couldn't eat an egg without feeling ill, and I'd brush my teeth over and over to try to get the 'taste' of the egg out. When I became pregnant with #2, I wanted eggs again and could eat them again...until I came home with #2 and fixed me up an egg to eat because I was hungry, and after I wanted to puke. Haven't been able to eat eggs since. Neither kid will eat them.

And milk, I drank a litre or more a day, would wake up in the morning after dreaming of drinking milk straight from the taps in the house. Weird. #1 Loves milk (has to be chocolate now tho').

With #2 I could barely get a glass of milk down a day, did it only because I had to, but loved fruit and juices. #2 favors fruit and juices. Also ate lots of peanut butter with #2, and now #2 enjoys peanut butter. I didn't eat any peanut butter with #1, and guess what - he won't touch the stuff!

the worst was the last with the twins..i was just plain sick forever, lol...then all i wanted was fresh fruit...

Nothing tasted good to me. I had nausea all day long and a horrible taste in my mouth.

I meant to add that to this day if I hear Barney, I get that awful feeling! Or many of the Disney tapes such as Mary Poppins. Obviously that was what DS was watching while I was feeling so sick on the couch!

I craved hommous and curry. I had never liked curry before I was pregnant (not because it was spicy, just didn't like the spice combination), but the whole time I was expecting I wanted curry for lunch (and often had it). Still love curry. I could not stand the smell of margarine- just wanted to hurl every time I smelled it. Luckily that stopped after I had DD.

A friend's mom was allergic to oranges, except when she was pregnant. When she was pregnant she craved oranges and ate dozens of them, but as soon as she delivered- allergic again.
