I fed my kid those Pepperidge Farm cookies (made from cottonseed oil) and she broke out in rashes and scratched herself bloody. I ate those cookies and had the worst hayfever: runny nose & sneezing. Went shopping yesterday: They had strawberries for $2.50 versus organic strawberries for $3.45. I sniffed both: the organic strawberries was more fragrant, versus the regular with a slight chemical scent. After sniffing both for several times, my nose was in pain (I stuck my nose too close). I realized that it's the pesticides sprayed on that inflamed my nose. My nose burned for hours afterwards Two years ago I tasted grape at the store, and had a tummy ache. Strawberries is known for the most pesticides I'm very sadden by UK’s Daily Mail report that an estimated 125,000 farmers in India have committed suicide because of crop failure and massive debt since planting GM seeds. From Straw: Years ago I watched a documentary film "Seeds of deception" where Mexican agriculture scientists voiced concern with GM seeds corrupting the bio-diversity of local seeds, which are well-adapted to drought and adverse local conditions. The vindictive dirt-throwing, defamation attacks against international scientists, and bullying tactics of big corporations made me more sick than the ill-effects of GM-foods. We are saved from our wheat being genetically-modified, thanks to the farmers voicing concerns that our wheat can't be exported, if genetically modified. And in 2009, Germany along with France, Hungary, Italy, Greece, Austria, Poland and Romania banned Monsanto’s MON 810 GM corn because of its documented dangers to biodiversity and human health. Years ago (maybe 30 or so) I had some wonderful Indian peanut butter chicken at a friend's house. Over the years I've often thought about the strange combination and how good it was. Someday I plan to try an Indian Peanut Butter Chicken recipe. Has anyone here ever tried a Peanut Butter Chicken recipe, Indian or otherwise? This ones good, Peanut sauce 1 med onion, chopped 1/2 tsp garlic crushed 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes 6 tbsp soya sauce 4 tbsp sherry 1/4 tsp ground ginger 3/4 c smooth peanut butter 1 c chicken stock 1 c whipping cream Saute onion, garlic and red pepper. Add all other ingredients except cream. Bring to boil, then simmer 30 min. Strain mixture, cool, drain excess oil (if you want) and add cream. Reheat to serve. Makes 3 cups. So is this one: Makes 2 cups 1 med onion, cut into 1/4 inch dice 2 cloves garlic minced 2 tbsp vegetable oil 2 tbsp sambal oelek 2 tbsp lemon juice 2 tbsp soya sauce 3 tbsp ketjap manis (sweet soy sauce) 1/2 c peanut butter, smooth, unsweetened 1/2 - 3/4 c hot water In s saucepan over low- med heat, suate the onion and garlic in the oil. Whisk in the sambal oelek, lemon juice, soy sauce, ketjap manis and peanut butter. Whisk in 1/2 c of the hot water and bring to a boil. If the consistency is too thick whisk in enough water to thin it out. Keeps for 2 weeks in fridge. Shelley

Carol: One can inoculate with L. Rhamnosus (a strain taken from a healthy person) ... with Culturelle probiotics, or make your own pickled-cabbage. If you scroll up, you'll see the research which listed many good bacteria in pickled cabbage, one of them is L. Rhamnosus ... which suppress other bad bacteria such as E. Coli, Samonella. One pill of Culturelle before bed helps me to sleep better than melatonin, thus help with weight-loss. Innoculation with one pill per day isn't enough ... the good bacteria are constantly killed off by the antibiotics added to beef & milk and poultry, plus junk food like sugar promote yeast, while suppressing the good bacteria. After finishing antibiotics, I was 119 lb., then I took Culturelle (with R. Rhamnosus), stayed between 118 to 119 lb. for 2 months, plus eating pickled-red-cabbage daily. The minute I stopped Culturelle, finished pickled-red-cabbage, plus stopped magnesium .. I gained 4 lbs. I suspect beneficial bacteria plays a role in deep & good sleep which helps to suppress ghrelin, the "hunger hormone". I notice the night which I take Culturelle plus magnesium before my night-snack .. I sleep really well, and eager to exercise in the morning. I sleep way better with that combo (culturelle & magnesium) than with melatonin.
