Templating: counter overhang and sink questions (Please!)
Comments (2)The rim of our sink is about 1" wide. Our countertop overhangs the base cabs by 1 3/4". We too have 3/4" full overlay cabinet doors. The net countertop overhang, including the cabinet doors, is 1". The distance from the sink cutout to the edge of our countertop is 4 1/4". Here's a shot. HTH....See MoreCounter Fabrication - Bar Overhang (final question)
Comments (13)Thanks all! I will try Pooh's suggestion of taping it off. I'll also look for some scrap cardboard and see about mocking up an extended counter top. The "do nothing" isn't really an option. As you can see, the shallow cabinet stops midway on the wall. The wall measures 11" and the cab (without the doors) measures 6". I think it would look very odd to stop the counter midway on the wall. And I can't/won't have him rebuild the cabinet (for a 3rd time). Already paid through my nose to have him change to counter height :( I had planned to have the counter "wrap" the wall slightly, as I've tried to show in this pic. Thanks again! I will let you know what I decide....See MoreKitchen counter top question
Comments (5)I'm not an expert, so please take this with a grain of salt 'till the cavalry arrives. My bet is that you will want to go this route instead, but I have no idea what you would do with the cut-out areas and that probably depends in part on what type of counter material you are using. Joe (Joseph Corlett) is the pro, and he is generous with his knowledge. I'm sure he'll check in soon....See MoreCounter stool against counter with no overhang?
