Sallen, I had to learn to post images so, hope this helps. The front elevation has 3 arches on the front porch, but they aren't installed yet so, it doesn't look quite as good as the final product. Other details, like the address stone are still missing. Note the brickwork matches the Fypon over the window on the right. We elected not to add shutters since we felt they hide the expensive brickwork and wasps tend to nest behind them. The rear porch has "receiver" boards against the wall so that a future screened-in porch can be added without disturbing the vinyl siding. My previous house had dark brown windows and trim and the aluminum cladding got chalky over time in direct sun and didn't look attractive. I later broke a window and tried to get the sash replaced and they had a 4-6 week lead time. I was told white is usually in stock and ready to ship because it is more common (15 years ago. Also, there are fewer color options for garage doors and the white windows and trim match the garage door.

I am having a similar problem now with exterior almond/tan vinyl windows. My home was painted 1/4 way around only and stopped them because the paint looked terrible against the faded vinyl. I have been back to the get new samples of paint to try around the windows, but I still can’t find a color that is compatible. My home was built in 78, and I think the windows are probably 90s. I bought the home in 2015. It is currently a beige color with green trim, very blah. I think I may go white, and the trim color I found matches the vinyl on the windows, called French Beige a Behr Marquee color. Then add shutters in the front, or I may need to change out all windows and then I can paint it whatever color I like.

Huge DIY overhaul around here 2002-05 or so. In April, 2004 I stripped wallpaper in upstairs bath. "My" bath. It was a bear of a job. Washed scrubbed, even palm sanded to get the residue off. Didn't get it all but got it back to a flat surface, so primed with oil-based primer, applied my smoky lt purple paint (PPG Heliotrope, think BM Wet Concrete). DH was replacing all flat doors with raised panel doors, flat interior baseboard & door trim with nice patterned wood. All of it sanded & painstakingly painted with Cab Coat. So I got the bathroom done, he hung new door, put up trim on hallway side of door, but did not put up door trim on inside of bathroom. I asked. I got perturbed every time I walked past the pile of finished trim stacked in the garage. I got mad at him and said "What's up with that???" He hedged. He mumbled & he grumbled, committed & procrastinated. I threatened to hire someone, the notion of which made him perturbed. Repeat that verbal cycle umpteen times. Didn't get it, he's good at this stuff. I still do not have interior trim around my bathroom door. Why? One day he finally answered: "Because you said you might repaint it. So I thought I'd wait till after that." (He overheard me tell someone ages ago that I might change it to a warm light gray 'next time'.) What a weasel.

Hi! I am quietly observing! Ha! You are all right in some way---the roof is definately gray. The door is NOT centered and the mailbox does belong to the left of the door (the wider side). I really don't know what the original builders were thinking to not make it centered, but it was going to entail way too much to change it when we resided. Our intensions are to put the house up for sale this summer/fall. We bought it and slowly redid the entire house inside and out-now we're feeling the need to get to the country - and likely start all over again! :) With all of that said-I'm not looking to spend a TON of money, but we will definately be painting the porch, putting the window boxes up, painting the door, putting new lights/lanterns up, and a new mailbox mounted to the house.
