Good Morning

Good morning everyone. It is a cloudy bit rainy day here in central Indiana. It would be nice to have it sunny. Lots to be done outside. I have 4 raspberry bushes to plant. Two red and two yellow but the patch where I want to plant is still too wet. This morning I am soaking some little lima beans. We always called them "butter beans". I am getting ready to make some cornbread muffins. I am just using a Jiffy mix as I will be the only one eating them. I also plan on baking a French Vanilla cake, a mix. I have already hauled the trash can out to the road in the rain and mailed out several get well cards. I am working in the kitchen this forenoon. If I have time and energy, I may work in my sewing room. Lots of projects I want to work on. I have a hard time, finding the time as I am gone so much or when I am home so much else takes my time. What is everyone else doing today and how is your weather. Hope all have a nice day.

We are in Wilson, NC for a few days. When we lived in NC, about an hour from here, I had a best friend that I met in craft classes. She has moved here to Wilson so we have come to visit her and her husband. I haven't seen her for 11 years.

So today we are going to go visit my friend and also go out to eat.

I met a KT friend here 11 years ago and have lost her address and phone number. I think I remember where her house was so I am going to go see if I can find her.

Tonight we will be eating out and having barbeque that I remember as being soooo good.

The weather here is partly cloudy with temps in the high 70's.

Everyone had a great day whatever you are doing.

I will continue on my quest to clean out the garage. I have a few boxes of books to go through, ski clothes to decide on and much miscellaneous stuff to sort. Big job.

Marilyn, I don't know how you do all you do! Your family is very lucky to have you. Nita, I hope you're having a wonderful time on your vacation.

I've never seen bedbugs except for the pictures on the web. Kath, I hope you had no hitchhikers. You certainly took plenty of precautions, I bet you'll be fine. One of the conference rooms at work had been infested with them. The managers wisely selected a different room for meetings for about a month. The exterminators were in on the day they were first seen. Speaking of bugs, today, I am finishing up debugging the tropicals that spend summer outside in prep for bringing them in for winter. We are supposed to get into the thirties Friday and Saturday evening. I used to always use a systemic, but this year I am trying something that I saw on Facebook. I am submerging the pots and as much foliage as possible in soapy water for half an hour. I am wiping all parts that cannot be submerged with the same soapy water, then rinsing when I pull them out. In theory, this is a great idea, but I have been using more and more lightweight foam pots to save my back. Foam pots float :-) I've been settling for allowing them to float sort of sideways and rotating the pot so all areas are submerged at some point for 30 minutes. We'll see if this helps with fungus gnats. I only have the 4 biggest left to do today, I got 8 smaller pots yesterday.

I had egg salad for my breakfast too. j Just a half sandwich. I was in a rush to get out the door to go ride. Passed the 90 mile mark in the virtual race today today! 10 more left. So proud of my school horse. We're sad it's coming to an end.

Paint: I would wait on selecting a color until you have your furniture and accessories chosen. The present color (in picture anyway) feels washed out and a creamy white would be more modern and crisp. - Built in‘s/tv location: with the width on both sides of fireplace being different, you’ll have to configure bookcases accordingly, if going that route. Suggest holding off on making a mantle change until you figure out wall - try to envision whole wall in your decisions Really like look below - Seating layout: really like your inspiration picture and as per the layout, centre to fireplace. I mowed - again - today, I had just mowed last Thursday but the grass was so high already. Normally I don't like a "sheared" lawn, but I set the deck too low on my mower and didn't realize it. Since it would look weird to do the rest on a higher setting I continued. Golf course like lawns make me uncomfortable! lol Besides all the little wild flowers got their heads chopped off. Maybe I won't have to mow for awhile now though it being so short. There are so many violets and other wild flowers in the orchard that I have a hard time mowing them, so I leave small patches here and there. The ground itself is still very damp. Sometimes when I sit on a chair at my small table down there, a chair leg or two will sink right into the soil sending me backwards. I've learned to be quick to jump off! I think I will plant ever bearing strawberries in my mailbox cover this year just for something different. They will have a white bloom and hopefully have berries most of the summer. At least that's what I envision, will see if it works out.

It's overcast here in my part of Ohio right now, but supposed to rain some later on today. When Sue gets tired of her weather in IN, she often sends it my way.

Laundry is my main duty of the day. I make a list for each day. That way I usually accomplish what I want to do. I don't make it too large.......if I overwhelm myself, nothing gets done.

I hope everyone has an enjoyable day today.

Overcast and a little cooler than usual here. About 76* I have some outside work to do and inside too. I need to get started. I went back to bed this morning for a couple of hours. I was awake most of the night worrying about some baby raccoons that I was afraid I was going to have to raise, but this morning I got up early and checked on them, and the mother is back. Taking on 6 baby raccoons is a very demanding job....much more than I want to do. So I was very happy that I don't have to do that.

We actually have SUN this morning -- been a while, although south of the city has had sun and 70's. We may reach 60F by afternoon. Rain returns tomorrow, and the next day, and...oh well. The creek at the side of our house is running high. The Fox and Des Plaines rivers west of us are flooding already. Grass is greening. Deer are sticking around.

I took DH to the morning train and will meet his return train at 12:30. He 'commutes' to attend a Tuesday lecture series at NU. Our Westie is anxious for a chance to leave p-mail at the station this afternoon.

I'm just doing usual housekeeping chores. I'll stop at the bank and CVS before meeting the train.

I need DH to help me flip our mattresses before changing our bed later. We have a king made up of two extra-long twins; don't know how we'd ever flip one big king mattress! DH is having 'restless leg' again. It may help to do the flipping.

It's sunny and 75 here in Paradise - out in the yard this afternoon, after taking the dogs to the groomer.

Woke up to more snow about a inch, but still driveable! Took DH to his chemo treatment, but had to have it postponed due to the sinus infection he has and still on meds. Got a good report on the petscan as the cancer seems to be going into remission again. He is so tired and not feeling good at all.
Sun out this afternoon and hoping for more of it. Still way too much on the ground and Minot got about 5 inches yesterday. Side streets still yucky!!

It's been an overcast day here today. Temps in low 70's. The sun peeking through from time to time. I played 18 holes of golf and had some lunch with golfing buddies. In a short while I'm going to give my car a good cleaning....., then start on dinner. I also have one load of wash to do.
