I like the ginger linen color best. Have you considered mixing two of the colors for the bedding?

As far as color, I think the champagne is very nice for the duvet cover and the shams. Light in feel, but warm, so it works with the woods in the room and the bronze tone in the paper. I think the fawn reads pink, and I think the ginger feels flat. I would want to see some of the blue as an accent pillow, perhaps monograms on the shams.

But as far as the actual bedding goes, I will have to take a pass. I am sure it feels wonderful. But looking at the pix on the Bella Notte site, I am afraid it just looks like a wrinkled mess to me. Fine for an ad with an unmade bed, skirts dragging on the floor, in a bare space with shadowy lighting. But not the look for a wonderfully elegant, more formal feeling space, imo.

But, as always, to each their own. Your space, and you should have what speaks to you.

Oh yes I do want to layer the colors on the bed..that is why I was thinking for a combo of champagne and ginger.

I wouldn't be using those exact same pieces, but have a similar look with the duvet folded at bottom of bed and complimentary shams at top of bed. I can assure you that skirts on my bed would not be dragging on the floor...lol...I require a skirt with a 22" drop to just skim the top of the floor. And Bella Notte is one of the few bedding collections that I have been able to find that actually has 22" skirts available.

These questions still weigh on my mind...Do I need to accessorize with brown/gold in this room? Or can the champagne and ginger work just fine? Should I be doing a pattern on the window or sticking to the gauzy sheers that I was hoping for?

When I was asking for votes/opinions on wallpaper choices, several people on here had said that I would have to be careful in picking bedding and fabrics because plain whites/off-whites would not be enough to balance the paper. I am definitely open to suggestions!! :)

These are not exactly my style, but would these work with the cocoa bands?

I've gotten a bunch of catalogs lately and while going through them, I came across some items in the colors you're looking at. The Company Store has ready made linen panels in sand and parchment. #GP66 Not sure they're the style or length though. They also have a Morgan Reversible Quilt with ivory on one side and that ginger color on the other. #CZ73 It has shams to match. They have a 21" drop dust ruffle in white or ivory. # GM68

Soft Surroundings has woven raw silk curtains that have an interesting texture. Again, probably not what you're looking for, but the colors are good. It has pillows and a dust ruffle to match. The dust ruffle isn't your length and I think it would be touchy with a vacuum cleaner. The link is below.

Do you have any wallpaper left over? See if you like the pattern as a dust ruffle. I think it would look pretty and you'd be able to see the print from the side of the room where you're dresser is.

Thanks so much chickadee!!! I just got the Company Store catalog the other day, I will have to breeze through it again to look at the curtains. I really like that Soft Surroundings site that you linked..I have never heard of that site before. What is catching my eye on that site are the balloon curtains and also the ones at the bottom of the page that have the smocking at the top... I have always wanted curtains like that with the smocking and they do come in a color called "natural". That is exactly the look I was going for, but not sure if it will look right in the room or not.

Also I am confused by what you mean with putting the leftover wallpaper on the dust ruffle. As far as I am aware, the wallpaper does not come with coordinating fabrics.

I just ordered a swatch in the natural color for this drapery panel from the Soft Surroundings site. They did not have a swatch available for the smocked curtains though.

Also I have had my eye on smocked drapery panels from Pottery Barn. They come in a color called "Khaki"...they do not have swatches, nor are they available to see in a store. I would have to order the actual drapes to see the color in person, and then if I don't like them, I would have to return them but still get stuck with the shipping costs. When I view the Pottery Barn curtains online, they SEEM like they would match well, but we all know how sometimes colors on computer screens don't always read properly.

The Soft Surroundings Drapery is pretty. I would probably hang them from the ruched pocket, not the ties.

Did you consider getting a sample of the blue as well? Seems like it would be perfect in that room, and would add volume and texture without overwhelming the space.

I would hang them on ORB rods with interesting finials, which is probably your plan.

les917 - yes the swatch set comes with both the natural and blue colors so I will get to see them both. Do you really think blue would work on the blue walls? The blue is definitely pretty but I am thinking that it might look too monochromatic. And YES I do plan on using some pretty decorative rods (not sure what color but I do have antique brass in the room). I was thinking along the lines of clear glass finials but have not gotten that far yet..trying to get over the hurdle of picking the curtains. I wonder if I hung those curtains from the ruched pocket, if I would still be able to see the ties...because I really like the look of the ties. The curtains would always be in the "open" position because I have blinds on the windows, curtains are really just for decorative purposes.

'Sorry to confuse you. I thought there was a companion fabric and you could just hold the wallpaper remnant against the bed to see what the fabric would look like in a dust ruffle.

The ruched curtains are very pretty and romantic. I like the way the ruching finishes it off. I hope the color works.

I was googling and found this blog with some pretty curtains. Here they tied the fabric onto rings instead of directly on the rod. Just another option. I also like how they added fringe to a simple curtain and brought in the blue.

ooooh I think those curtains in that blog are so pretty! I like how they tied the ribbons to the rings and I also like the fact that the ties are a different color from the drapes.

And yeah, I wish the wallpaper had a companion fabric because it would even be nice to have a decorative pillow for the bed with that pattern on it.

I was at Tuesday Morning today, looking at decorative pillows, and found a pair of them that would seem to be perfect as accent pillows on your bed. You could use one or both, depending on what you wanted. They are down-filled, $24.99 each. Didn't note the measurements in my excitement, but they are rectangular, maybe about 18" wide and about 12" tall.

I took a couple of pix with my phone, but need my tech specialist son to upload them for me if you are interested. I would be happy to get one or both of them for you and send them your way.

And I am completely addicted to this forum and would be lost without it!! I was just reading back to the thread in which people were voting on which wallpaper to choose for my room, and you had mentioned (and others agreed with you) that I needed to get bedding that would balance out the colors in the paper. You had posted a really pretty JC Penney bedding set in that thread is simply gorgeous but because I have my heart set on solid colors I am getting stuck on that and feeling discouraged...I really wanted solid color linens but just struggling as to what direction I should go. I am not opposed to introducing another pattern in the room, but really don't think I am talented enough to pick the right thing. The only patterns that I am thinking will work are ginghams or stripes (and I hate stripes). LOL

I just ordered (for free!) some swatches from Restoration Hardware's Belgian Linen collections. I discovered their bedding online last night and I like the looks of it, definitely along the lines of what I am looking for. I really like the Belgian Floral duvet cover but it looks like it is only available in limited colors/sizes, might be discontinued. WHY is it that when I find something I like, it is no longer available. They do have other Belgian linen options though, so I ordered a bunch of swatch colors. Anyone have any experience with the Belgian Linens from RH?

Maybe not at that price, no returns and an uncertain color compatibility (spa could be or might not be ok -- and it wouldn't be right next to the bedroom wall....), but I thought of you when I saw it.

lascatx - WOW that shower curtain is really something! That should be in my room somewhere! LOL Unfortunately our master bathroom is unusable at this time - the day after Christmas we discovered damage and rot behind shower tiles and right now walls are stripped down to the studs. We are saving up money to hopefully do the whole bathroom in the fall sometime.

Nutmegxo, I have RH shower curtains in the Belgian linen and also drapery. I love the aged softness of them and they hang so beautifully. I looked at the catalog and then found them on Ebay for about 35% less including shipping.

yayagal - so awesome that you were able to get them at such a good price on eBay. I saw on eBay, the Belgian floral pattern but I hesitate getting it until I see the swatches. I am concerned about the color.

That's a code for RH for 15% off that is good until May 1st. It came on a huuuge catalogue that arrived in the mail yesterday. Don't know why, since I've never ordered from them.
