3.5 gallon vs pressure assisted question.

Hi,

I have a 3.5 gallon/flush Kohler Wellworth toilet installed in my basement (we can still buy these in Canada for "renovation" projects). The basement is 5 feet below grade and the drain is mounted on the floor. Toilet functions OK but doesn't drain as quickly as the same toilet mounted on the second floor which is about 6' above grade. Surprisingly I rarely have to use a plunger but it is defintely a weaker flush, maybe due to where it's installed.

I was curious if the pressure assisted Gerber toilet (1.6gp

f) would be better, worse or a complete waste of money. I was going to buy one but 1.6 gallons is still 1.6 gallons. Anyone have any experience or advice? My water pressure is about 60psi.

Fwiw, I have another Kohler 1.6gpf (gravity fed) and that thing plugs with a few tissues. It's horrible.

Thanks!

Joe
