Since you are thinking of that in terms of more of a game table, I think you want comfortable seating. I see something in fabric, perhaps with arms of some kind.

One choice, in keeping with the monochromatic feel that you have going in the space, would be this one:

My third thought would be a woven banana leaf or water hyacinth chair, for texture, but still in the brown tones of the couch. This one from Pottery Barn in the Havana Dark finish would be nice:

Hi, I saw this one on SteinWorld $419 but have seen similar in form chairs on overstock for less. Not sure of quality difference though.

srg215, one mistake I made when purchasing chairs for a small round table I have is that I didn't measure to find out what would actually fit under the table. I can't push all four chairs in together because the seats hit. Just a thought you might want to consider. BTW, your room is beautiful!

Do I remember correctly that you had decided on parsons chairs when you posted before? Did you change your mind? If so, what kind are you leaning toward now?

specifically for dining tables and often come in sets of two in rediculously low prices.

i'm having trouble finding a parsons chair (not leather) in a fabric that i like. i am aware of the point that arapano makes which is why i'd like to keep the width of the chairs to 20" max. i have enough room around the table that the chairs don't need to be pushed all the way in.

I am sorry - I misunderstood. I thought you didn't want a chair like the DR chair, which is basically a parson's chair.

Try carringtoncourt.com for parson's chairs. They have TONS of fabric choices. Good reviews and reputation.

Not sure if you have a Home Goods near you, but, I have noticed their selection of dining chairs has gone up lately. (I really do know their inventory too well, must stay out of there)

If you intend to use the table for games and relaxing, I would suggest you find a chair that is more comfortable than a dining chair. Although, the Cody dining chair that Les referenced looks pretty comfortable, so maybe something like that would work.

One of the challenges with finding a chair is that the table appears to be dining table height, while many comfy occasional chairs have seat heights that are too low to sit comfortably at that height table.

i didn't even realize that a game table would be a different height than a dining table. i need a chair that's dining table height but doesn't look like my kitchen chairs. the cody looks cute, but i'm not sure i want to go cute. the chair that deeinohio posted wouldn't work because it's just too big/heavy looking near by humongous heavy couch.

In my mind I'm seeing a chair with some form and texture to counter the smoothness and straight lines (in a good way) of the rest of your room.If you go somewhat mellow with the fabric colors you can get away with a tiny bit of cool piping to add an extra wow.

Check out Best Home Furnishings (besthf.com). They have a lot of chairs to choose from and like 700 different fabrics. They are made in Indiana. We just purchased two accent chairs from a local furniture store and ordered them from Best. I am very pleased with them. Not too expensive. We chose the Elie accent chair in a fabric with expresso legs. They were $329 each. They have an online tool where you can see what the fabric would like like on each chair.
