We are trying to decide on getting some wainscoting done in our stairwell. Initially I thought going down the stairwell and doing the area under the stairs and the adjacent wall under the stairwell would be nice. Our designer recommends doing the entire foyer which includes a hallway that veers off the left from the foyer and leads to the laundry room. I think that may be overkill. Is it good to do for continuity the entire foyer and if that's the case would we be ok if we just decided to do the stairwell.
