Paula Deen's Kentucky Pie

I googled this and found the recipe, but there was an error in it (as compared to what Paula herself said on her show). Because of that, I felt I should post this here, with the correction.

Corrie's Kentucky Pie

Ingredients

4 large eggs, lightly beaten

2 cups sugar

1 (12-ounce) package semisweet chocolate morsels, melted

1 cup sifted self-rising flour I used all-purpose flour, sifting in 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/2 T. baking powder

1 cup (2 sticks) butter, melted

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 cups chopped pecans

2 (9-inch) deep dish unbaked pie shells or 3 (9-inch) unbaked regular pie shells

Ice cream, optional

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Combine eggs, sugar, and melted chocolate in large bowl. Add flour and mix well, stirring in remaining ingredients except for pie shells. Bake 50-60 minutes. This is a correction; the recipe I saw online said to bake it only 30-40 minutes.

Serve warm with ice cream. Freezes well!!

*** This is a very rich pie. Since pecan pie (without chocolate) is too rich for me, I doubt I'll eat more than just a taste. But DH and DC will [literally] eat it up! Even so, I've told them this will be a holiday dessert.
