I think Lee is better than Mitchell Gold. Lee uses 8 way hand tied springs which many furniture experts claim is the hallmark of quality construction. Lee is also made in the US while some M&G products are not. I don't think the quality is "drastically" different but Lee has an excellent reputation in the industry.

I have a Lee sofa.. which I have had for many years.. and still as good as new.. I just ordered 2 sofas for my new house.. the quality, in my opinion is wonderful.. I have the down added but I think you can choose what you like.. Hope this helps!

I love my Lee stuff which I have had for three years (sofa and two chairs). Still look and wear like new. Considered Mitchell Gold as well, decision wasn't so much quality though as styles.

For those of you that have Lee furniture-would you mind posting a pic or listing the styles you have? I am seriously considering Lee but am in an area with very limited Lee pieces to actually see. The raves of the people here are why I am considering it. If you have an option (like down) why did you choose it? This would help me very much!

All of my upholstered pieces are made by Lee. I can't say enough great things about them...wonderful company. I have had my furniture for almost 7 years and it is in great shape. They are in our living room, and get used all day every day (old house, no family room). My sofa is slipcovered and after having it, I will never buy a sofa or chair without them. It is due for a new cover, though as I'm ready for a change.

I'm posting a link to my LR below. The chairs didn't come with slipcovers, so I had some custom made. BTW...I had so much faith in LEE and the retailer, I bought my chairs without even seeing or sitting in them. Just saw the picture in the book. I get tons of compliments on how comfortable they are. If you flip through some of the pictures, you will see them.

Beausoleil -- (wish we had more of that right now!) Thanks. What kind of cushions do you have, foam or down? I've had two couches with foam and neither held up well. I'd like to go with down upgrade this time.

I just got the foam cushions. When they or the sofa need replacing, I will most likely go with a down wrapped cushion. I didn't have any experience with down and didn't want to be worried about my kids trashing them.

Here is a picture of my LR. The sofa and the 2 chairs (not as shiny looking in person) are from Lee. I got the Cloud 9 package - so comfortable! We are extremely pleased with the furniture.

We have a 15 year old Mitchell Gold slipcover style sofa that was my husband's bachelor pad sofa and it has held up great. We had a new slipcover made for it a few years ago and it is still going strong.

That being said, we are finally approaching the end of a two year long whole house remodel and Lee is what we are considering for our living room. I think we are going to get a pair of these "apartment sized" sofas for our formal living room.

I'm much more comfortable (no pun intended)) seeing and sitting on furniture before buying it. The model I'm interested in isn't on anyone's floor, so it's a little scary. What if, after all I'm going through with fabric selection and etc, it doesn't look or sit quite right? It's a lot of money to spend to be not quite satisfied.

I have 9 year old Mitchell Gold sofas (from Pottery Barn). I am amazed at how well they have held up! They have been used every day (only have one living room in our old house) by 2 adults and, more recently, two toddlers.
In fact, they are in such good shape that I just bought new slipcovers for them and plan to use them in our "formal" living room in our new house.
I don't have any experience with Lee, but I am really impressed with Mitchell Gold.
