Elbows, friction and pressure loss

How much are the losses from elbows and fittings?

I am trying to diagnose a pressure problem. Where my water softener is plumbed into the supply it looks like a maze of pipes. The supply diverts over to the softener then back and branches off. I have read in this forum that the number of fittings and friction affect pressure loss. Should I be concerned with counting the number of elbows and possibly moving the softener in order to simplify and straighten the path?

There is also an unnecessary (extra) cut-off valve to one branch.

I also suspect some of the joints might have too much solder pushed into them.

So I could just remove the extra valve and hunt for plugged joints, but would there be any benefit to moving the unit, making a neater installation, if it will also get rid of some of the elbows?

I think I would enjoy looking at it more, but I wouldn't want aesthetics to be the only benefit.

Thank-you.
