Anyone purchase a Speed Queen in the last couple of months?
Comments (80)We nust bought one yesterday, old school AWn432 for 849.99 w/tax here in central Florida, 905.24. Pretty stoked! Speed Queen baby! Yes, that's hot water and it's full to the top! No pushing a button repeatedly to put in another item and it and inadvertently cancels, a-huh, yup and you get to add more soap in. Ya that's right, SQ you just lift the lid like the old days. Yippee, no more tepid 3 cups of water swishing back n forth, not getting your clothes clean and taking 74-90 minutes a load. 30 minutes baby! Doesn't sound like a freight train and purrs like a kitten! For fancier controls also comes in a toutch screen style but simple suites me. . And yes, I don't apologize - all the greenies can kiss my a$$, cause I have Clean Clothes Fast! Did I say I'm stoked! Only thing is a partial downer is the cold rinse, but I can manually turn the dial to wash, fill up with warm or hot water then turn it back to the rince cycle. Buy of the century!...See Morewhen to pump septic system tank?
Comments (24)"They guy thats got two fields with a d box/valve and is going to see how long he goes just cracks me up, you go buddy, it's only gonna cost you thousands in the long run. " once you have wrecked on of the fields it is just that, not suitable for use every again (unless you want to try and dig it out and replace it). Once solids pass into the field (or waste that did not sit in the tank long enough) the field is wrecked. It will NOT recover....See MoreI’m at my wits end! Comments (3)When you say you're draining into the sewer, I sure hope you don't mean into your septic system. That would be bad. The "thunk" is probably the reverse valve dropping back when the pump stops. We have that in our rental house too. I'm not messing with ours (because: rental, and we're only here a few more months), but I'd look at cobbling together some sort of anti-hammer. Plus maybe look at how the pipes are touching the house structure and padding that. I did find a useful article on what you describe that may help: https://homes.winnipegfreepress.com/winnipeg-real-estate-articles/renovation-design/ASK-THE-INSPECTOR-How-to-quiet-sump-pump-drain-pipe-racket/id-3295...See MoreJust Closed On Our First home, 40,000 gallon water bill and septic sys
Comments (18)That's good news, I didn't hire anyone Except our inspector, which has nothing to do with this scenario, we did a walkthrough, and did everything properly with photos. However, that happened at least 30 days before this issue occurred, or even knew the septic needed to be replaced. 100% unrelatable, he'd have two 40,000 gallon bills if that were the case. We requested the seller have the septic inspected, Which was also a law when selling a home anyway. The seller hired an independent contractor of his choice for an estimate, and the health department showed up at the same time to do the testing. I have no clue who let them in, I do know he has been out of the country the entire process until closing. The health department alone came back a few days/week later to retest. No idea who let them in. From that point forward( a month before this occured), Me, or anyone related to me in the process did not enter the home until the walkthrough the day of closing, finding the water on, which we turned off. I just wanted to clarify, it wasn't the home inspector, but the Health Department, and the seller's choice of septic services that had access to the property. We have not had access to the property in well over a month- other than driving by it. thanks for your response, it has been helpful. Seems like the seller will have to eat the costs, or go after the person who let them in. It wouldn't be my fault as you indicated if the seller's contractors/health department did this, which is the only possible explanation, Proven by records of who has scanned and entered the property ( the key is locked and recorded when opened and by whom). I'm just a little worried that the agreed-upon repair may not have been necessary. But, You are correct, the addendum does not say IF, It says IT DOES need replaced and has already been agreed to be replaced since the health department 100% failed the unit, It's requirement is a complete replacement Via The health departments orders- But what if the health departments order change, after the agreement was in place? That's my main concern. If anything comes of this, we don't have the means to fight it or pay for anything....See Morealphonse
