TinyPic.com? No I'm not affiliated with it in anyway. I just got tired of dealing with Photobucket and thought there has to be something better than this. And there is!

Surely there are some who already are familiar, but for those who aren't, Tinypic.com is in many ways like Photobucket in that it will host your pictures, store them in different albums and yes, provide you with the HTML code you need to upload a picture here. The difference is, when you upload a photo in Tinypic, you have to tell it up front how big you want your picture to be. I always use the size appropriate for message boards (480x640). I also always assign my photo to an album when I up load it.

The thing I really like about Tinypic though, is that I can upload a picture without being signed in, it won't save if of course, but I don't want to save a lot of the photos I post here. In those cases, it will give me the HMTL code I need to post and then I never have to fool with the picture again. Where as in Photobucket, I have to keep the photo or delete it. If you haven't managed your photos very well (like me) it's a real Pain in the Patoot to clean up the mess. Another plus, I don't find their ads to be as intrusive and it's free.

I purchased Johnson hand-scraped walnut flooring in 2012 from a local dealer. They installed it through the entire first floor living and kitchen area of my home and did a great job. The total cost was ~$28,000. The floors were beautiful. My wife and I were happy. Our selection of this product was based on a lot of research on websites like this one. Our final decision was based on reviews, perceived quality, and warranty. Price was a factor, but not as critical as the other factors mentioned since we planned to enjoy these floors for as long as we were around. Only my wife and I live in the home and I always remove my shoes when coming into the house and we keep the floors like furniture. About a year ago. I started noticing that the urethane finish on the ridges of the hand scraped finish were fading and dull. It has become very noticeable. I called the supplier and was glad to know I had a 35 year warranty and the issue with my floor would be backed by Johnson. Today, I received a response from Johnson stating that my problem was normal wear and tear and not covered under warranty. I thought I did my due diligence on the front end by selecting what I thought was a reputable manufacturer with a solid customer support network. Knowing what I know today, I would not recommend these floors if you need more than 4 years of service. My wife and I were really disappointed with the lack of support we were provided and I am only posting this to provide insight for others who may be considering a decision like the mistake we made by purchasing Johnson floors.

In response to Eve72's post, the Kraus 16-gauge stainless steel sinks do not rust. When rust appears on stainless steel it is because something external is on the stainless steel's surface that is rusting. You can use Barkeepers Friend to remove it. Let's clear up the ignorant statement about stainless steel sinks rusting. ANY stainless steel sink can show rust if steel wool like Brillo or other steel wool pads are used on it. I repeat, ANY brand of stainless steel sink, not just Kraus. When you see rust from steel wool, it's from the iron residue left by the steel wool on top of the stainless steel. I'll quote from Franke's website: Steel wool or metal scouring pads should never be used to clean your sink as they will leave a residue of small iron particles. They may not be readily visible, but they will lead to rusting and corrosion of the sink. As to Kraus faucets, I don't have direct experience, but in many years on this forum, I have not seen complaints here from Kraus faucet owners. I have seen Live_Wire_Oak's alarmist posts on this, but no one has ever stepped up in response and said "yes, I have a Kraus faucet which failed". I have seen many posts over the years about faucets failing, and they were often American-name faucets bought at HD. If anyone is worried about Chinese faucets, they better check their own Kohlers, Danzes, and Moens, many of which are made in China. @party_music50 Yes, you still get your CC cash back bonus. Like others, I donate directly to numerous charities each year. If I am shopping on Amazon (and I have cut back lately since several S&S prices have skyrocketed on many items, so I'm finding them for less locally), why not have "pennies" go to (currently) two of our grandchildren's school? My charities (both have been schools) have received almost $300 from my purchases. I am happy to do this effortless giving. @Tina Marie I don't usually buy from my phone either, but now and then I have wanted to, so I'll just save to my list, then purchase on my laptop.

New Hampshire Seacoast! LOL we always joke about that. I had no Idea they even named it. It must be about a mile of seacoast that poor state gets! I thought photo bucket was a pain because I was new at it.
At what point can you delete the photo? Can the picture be deleted immediately after you get the the HTML code? I could test it but thought it would be easier to ask you!

Thanks. One of my biggest gripes about Photobucket is that it takes so long to get to the album and pic I want to access. Is the accessibility ~ and maneuverability ~ easier and quicker on TinyPic?

Lynn & Deedee - It is SOOOO much better because you have a choice!

You can set up an account with TinyPic and save your pictures. When I do that, I assign an album and resolution size at the same time I upload and it's wonderful!

But unlike Photobucket, you don't have to have an account or to save that particular photo just to get the HMTL code. You have the option to just temporarily upload it without signing in. Like you said, it just won't save the pictures.

I've used TinyPic many times to resize a photo, but I prefer Photobucket for storing my photos (unless my storage times-out for the month...grrrr) I am neat and have everything in folders that I want to save. Those that I don't (like doing Paint or Photoshop for someone else,) I save to my "unassigned" album, and then delete after about a month...depending on how active a thread is.

I agree that Photobucket sometimes take a while to load a photo, but I am use to it now. :-)

Well there you go...everyone has different needs and perspectives. I just want to let everyone know what's available and that we have choices. My preference is completely opposite to yours because when I'm doing mock ups, I find it goes much quicker with Tinypic than Photobucket. Funny really, because someone recently posted that both sites are owned by Photobucket.

Two other great free sites for storing your pictures in albums are Flickr.com and Picassa.com

Yes, Flickr & Picassa are popular sites but I'm not sure they are applicable for this purpose, which is to have easy access to the HMTL code that is used to post photos in the forum. As far as I've been able to tell, they aren't, if someone knows otherwise and would like to post how to find that feature, that would be great. :c)

I use Flickr to store all my photos as one way to back them up. It does give easy access to HTML code. Just go to the size photo you want to use and copy it from beneath the photo. I suppose you'd have to be sure your privacy settings were appropriately set.

Just wanted to let you know that for about a month I've been using Tiny Pic for things I share here at the GW with no more worries as to over using my Photobucket which is attached to other groups I'm in. I'm very happy with it. It has the same photo editor PB does too. Thanks for aiming me in that direction lukkiirish.

For Flickr, after you've uploaded your photos:

Choose the photo you want to post here.
Right click to choose the size.
Then you can right click on the photo itself and it will say
"Copy image location"
Paste that URL into your message here using this code (replace the phrase PASTE URL HERE with your URL)

<"img src= PASTE URL HERE">

A url for a picture from Flickr will be something like this:
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4062/4445927275_da0bd681db_m.jpg

For Picassa, navigate to the photo you want to post.
In the right hand column it will say "LINK TO THIS PHOTO"
Click on that link.
Click on the drop down menu that says "SELECT SIZE"
Check the box that says "IMAGE ONLY (NO LINK)
Click in the box that says EMBED IMAGE and copy the text from there and paste it into the message using the code above.

I know it might sound a bit complicated at first but it gets easier the more you do it.
