The rings should have tiny ring that you'll use curtain hooks to attach them to your curtains. The curtain hook actually goes into the curtain fabric, the other end of the hook goes into the hook ring. I just bought curtain hooks at Lowe's of all places. I've always done the pocket rod thing, but my new PB drapes were pictured with rings so that's what I bought. Love them. Makes opening and closing the drapes so much easier and they look good too. In fact, I'm going to put rings on the drapes in another room where the window is also so high I have to have a "grabber" tool to push the drapes apart because the bunching of the material makes them get "stuck". Not sure how to add rings to a drape that is made strictly for a rod tho. Where do I clamp the ring on? somewhere at the top of a pleat I presume.

You've created a fun and glamorous destination for partying in your own home for sure. kswl -- very interesting point about showing (or not showing) the curtain rod. I hadn't even thought about that. Now I will! I've just flipped through a small stack of House Beautiful and Elle Decor from the last year and see that curtain rods are almost always showing. So I guess that showcasing the rod is the current "look" and perhaps is part of the current appeal of the euro/tailored/parisian pleat. Thanks! Now I'll need to consider whether the exposed rod is the right look or not for what I'm trying to achieve in my dining room. If I decide to cover the rod I assume that I'll need my drapes to be at least three or four inches longer -- so I need to decide before I order the drapes.

You are right - I went to the JCP website, and some of their pinch-pleated drapery are hung from clip rings. I find that so odd - a very casual way of hanging a more formal style of drapery treatment, especially to have the clips showing on the ends. Personally, I don't care for seeing the clips and chain behind the pleats, but that is just me. If you zoom in on a few of those pix on the JCP website, you should be able to see how they have attached the clips. They come in sets of 7 because there is a standard number of pleats per panel for ready-mades.
