Surgery Is over...I Made It

The worst part of surgery that damn anestesia yuk I keep tasting it.i' feel a little better today,didnt sleep well last night.

I have dialysis today not sure how that will go.But I made it..

Jodik, When I have a bulb I perform surgery on, I always hint it with cinnamon, then let it dry for a whole day in the warmest spot outside or inside of the house, so the cut parts would dry off enough. Then I only plant it so just the roots are under soil, all the bulb is actually sitting on the planting material, sometimes even the basal plate on top of it, not covered. Then when a few weeks later the cuts are completely dried, or the bulb finished flowering and I plant it out, that is when I consider covering only about half the bulb under the soil level... But most of the time I keep the same method, just keeping the bulb itself above soil level as much as possible. So far, I only had one bulb die on me, but it was extremely rotten, so I think no matter what I did to it, it just wanted to go. Most of the time the cut scales just harden and drie off, and the bulb fatten up in front of your eyes. McClure & Zimmermann: Very interesting. I ordered from them twice last year. I got HUGE bulbs and they were all dry. I was stunned though that they have shipped in plastic bags, though the bags had holes on them, that is true. The flowers were wonderful that bloomed from the bulbs BUT Pink Nymph turned out Nymph, Aphrodite turned out Nymph, White Nymph turned out Nymph, another Aphrodite turned out Nymph (replacement), and Chianti turned out Celica... So as much as I was happy with their bulb quality and immediate and unreserved replacement and charge back capability... I was surprised of the quantity of mislabeled bulbs. This was the highest in any company I have ever tried. That is why I have ordered Aphrodite from Royal Colors finally, because MZ was just not able to send one for me that would bloom Aphrodite.

I would recommend one of each also (I think Ann T did this) for someone else, but I don't know if I would want it for myself. My work also requires that I be able to see very clearly close up, and for the past few years, I gave up on contacts and now have distance glasses (-3.5) and computer glasses that I wear much of the time. I can do most reading with computer glasses, but I can see detail even better with no glasses. Until recently, I could not read comfortably without glasses because I had to hold the book too close, but that is no longer a problem. I decided against surgery to see distance because I want always to be able to see close up. For surfing and snorkeling, I prefer to have distance vision, and for this reason, I was never a very good surfer. If I were much younger, I would opt for distance vision. I went to my opthamalogist last week to get checked for glaucoma. I'm just barely borderline, but my brother who is 5 years younger has been on meds for that for some time. The doctor that I see for this is in Santa Monica and is somewhat like Dougie Howser. He's 28, a surfer with blond hair and blue eyes, and he rides a 10-speed bike to work. He irritates me a bit by the way he talks, and he chided me for cancelling the last appointment, but I had to remind him that he was the one who cancelled instead of me. As it turned out, that was the day that his first son was born. He's going to Hawaii the month after I'm going, and he told me that now that he is a father, he would not risk ziplining, but I have already made reservations for that, although not on the scariest one, which would have required too much stenuous hiking while carrying 10 pounds of trolley. Glad to hear that your first surgery went well. By the way, you can get prescription goggles for swimming and snorkeling, in case you are nearsighted, and I believe that they also make prescription masks, but those would be expensive. You can get the swim goggles for under $30. I used to have some that I tried to use for surfing, but they don't work well for that, and so I gave them to my sister. Anyway, if you like to swim and are nearsighted, goggles are a good option. Lars

Ear Ablation Surgery - Anyone Have Experience/Advice To Share?

My seven-year-old cocker or has been dealing with allergies and severe ear infections for the past two years . He has seen three different vets and a dermatologist, He’s been on every anabiotic steroids eardrops you name it nothing has helped. I finally made the decision to proceed with that year ablation surgery which was five days ago , i’ll be honest I didn’t expect him to recover so quickly and was very heartbroken and torn about the decision . His surgery was at PVSEC in Pittsburgh and the surgery cost $5000 per ear. Prior to his surgery he was absolutely miserable, his ears were completely swelled shut, he was in so much pain you couldn’t touch his ears without him crying. It’s now five days after surgery, with stitches still intact, he has no problem with me handling his ear to apply antibiotic ointment and it looks great. I want to give him plenty of recovery time before proceeding with his second surgery. . As far as BRUTUSES comment goes, The individual sounds like the type of person who would not hesitate to take his pet outside and end it’s life with a shotgun because it had fleas, but hey, that’s just my OPPINION. I would do anything and everything to help my furbaby because in my eyes, he IS my child, not some animal whose life isn’t worth saving. I was extremely hesitant about having this surgery, but now that I have witnessed how fast he’s bounced back and the pain he’s no longer in, with that particular ear, I’m not as upset to proceed with the second ear in a few months. We do what we can for our babies and sometimes when all other options have been exhausted, we have no other choice other than surgery.

So DH spoke to the contractor and he was very understanding. He said he knew they were working on weekends but had no idea they were showing up so early. He agreed that 9 am was a more reasonable time and he'd remind them to try to be quieter. At first he said the deck was covered as best they could and then he went by the house to check it out himself and called back to say they had done an "idiotic" job covering it up. When I went back to the house they had removed it and replaced it with uniform pieces of plywood. I could see screw holes, but they weren't bad and I don't mind if they have to screw it down for safety. The toilet was his mistake and he'll get a temporary one put in today (glad I don't have to deal with the one that they used that isn't hooked up). As DH said, I have to learn to communicate before getting upset. However, I think letting him make the initial call is going to be a good strategy as I do tend towards the dramatic and emotional :) Thanks for all the advice and, once again, having my back.

Grinch-I got lapband surgery.They want me to lose 50lbs.I lost 42 but my blood pressure would get in 80s then dr would raise my dry weight,He kept doing this like 8 times,a kilo is 3-4lbs he raised it like 8 times so
I gave up.I was fighting a losing battle.He asked one day if i want to get lapband finally I said just make me an appointment.

I checked in hospital at 9 am ,10:30 they took me up to operating room I was there and recovery till 4:30.we got home 7:30,they said Im the first dialysis patient even in hershey to have this done.They said they had a little trouble working around my kidneys, but got it done.I got 6 holes in my stomach.\
My mouth is really dry for 3-5 days I can only have 2 T.of liquid every 1/2 hour.then for 2 weeks I can add milk ,cream soups at stage 5 I can have almost anything.lookin forward to eatting food again.
