Any recommendations for new dishes?

My everyday day of dishes should have been replaced last year. No make that 2 years ago. I've had them for so long the glaze has worn off and many of them are covered with fine, grey lines.

And here's my confession - my beloved set of dishes is nearly 35 years old. It's Corning Wear Cornerstone. A product made in the 70's to compete with Pfaltsgraff ironstone. This set was indestructible - it wasn't thin like the Corelle sets but significantly heavier yet it still stacked well and fit in the dishwasher easily - even the bowls.

So I've been looking and the only thing that tempts me is Mikasa's Italian Countryside. Bed, Bath and Beyond is offering a special and I'm going back to look today. I just wonder if plain white would bore me or if there as well made. Corelle now offers different types of dishes but they offer so many it's hard to find a store with a big selection.

Has anyone purchased dishes lately that they'd recommend? I'm open to suggestions.
